Any way to get the FDS games to run faster on FCEUMM? There seems to be a lot of slowdown with them. Normal NES games run at full speed. I'm currently using the .3dsx version of it on O3DS on 10.2

maybe a stupid question, but a few pages back i read about DSP being implemented at the moment, and while doing it, performance will not be better.

can anyone tell me what exactly DSP will improve, and maybe when we will have the advantages of it working?

thanks

DSP is the official sound service/library on the 3DS, while CSND is supposed to be used for playing banner sounds usually (I believe this is why we had crackling in some emulators like GameYob, CSND simply isn't made for mainstream audio). The theory is that it should provide better audio with less or no crackling when you're running an emulator at full speed, but that's hard to see right now, when DSP actually lowers performance. It only just came out a couple days ago though, so I'm sure there's still room for improvement.

thanks that made it clear to me ^^

@Slasher115 could you use other colours that are not gray for the OP?
It just makes it harder to see for users using the GBATemp Dark Theme:

can you tell and show us what color is normally used in you theme for regular written stuff ?

Is anybody else able to play the following CPS2 games using 2.5 hax on 3dsx?
Darkstalkers 1, Marvel Superheroes Vs Street Fighter, Night Warriors: Darkstalker's Revenge, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Vampire Savior 1, Vampire Savior 2

Darkstalkers and Night Warriors lock up my system, but with the others I can hear audio but have a black screen. I have numerous other roms that work fine, and I had these same roms working under the CIA build of this core on my 8.1 N3DS. I've deleted configs and moved to latest nightly, any others seeing these issues?

Like I said I'm kinda new and stupid about how posting here works (I'd rather use html than this lol) the default color looks like grey in our there but somehow has the "default" value, and uses the default value in your there too.
if I try to choose a color, I don't know how to choose the default color...am I suppose to click on "none" ? (seems to me it doesn't do anything...)

@daxtsu >thanks for the explaination about DSP :)

@xombiexplox > extra ram isn't used in the 3dsx builds yet, AFAIK.

A good note for others:
FBA NEO savestates are KIIINDA broken.
Not terribly so but enough to make loadstates on a new session/after a restart pointless and makes the game buggy, though this all just seems to be how FBA handles asset loading and memory management than a fault of the emulator.

...Uuuuh... no.
N3DS running these romsets perfectly fine with csnd, all in the same session.
Redownload the nightly/roms?

I want to use the circle pad rather than the dpad on the snes emulator.
Would anybody either make that possible for me, or help me figure out how to?
General menu > Settings > Input > Input User 1 Binds > User 1 Analog To Digital Type > select "Left analog"

Start a game and then open the emulator menu, go to Core Input Options and change "User 1 Analog to Digital Type" to Left Analog.

- Edited the OP with that info, thanks for contributing guys, I appreciate it ! (will credit too)

- added a "Tips" (should it be name "Hints" or something else ?) section with above feature and how to bind RetroArch functions to buttons (read Save/load savestate/fast forward toggle/fast forward hold/frame advance/pause etc)

- reformatted OP font color, hopefully ppl with black theme can now read stuff ;)

- added some stuff/comments here and there for clarity. (hopefully)

NEO GEO RELATED STUFF :
wanted to give a HUGE thanks to @wangtang32000 (PowerStone fan ? :D) for telling me svcsplus was woring for him !!
So I did some testing on new3DS with FBA Neo as cia, and turns out you can't run svc.zip, but you can run svcsplus.zip (if you have svc.zip next to it)
(SNK vs Capcom Chaos (super plus))

I'm not very knowledgeable about bootlegs, but seems like some bootlegs work well where their original/parent counterpart fails.
not 100% sure why, but bootleg might already decrypted and are stripped down version of the original ?
