It doesn't work like that, the payloads have been updated and are downloaded. You can manually update it if you already have it installed, but other than that you are boned. I'd recommend waiting a little bit until yellow8 updates the installer https://github.com/yellows8/3ds_homemenuhax

Yes it does sir, several people have confirmed that the offline installer installs 2.1, then you can install Themehax 1.2, then manually update Themehax to launch 2.5 amd finally reinstall hax 2.5

Trying to set up themehax on a O3DS 9.2.0-20U and it keeps saying it fails to download the actual payload. Not sure what to do. I'm following this guide https://gbatemp.net/threads/rxtools...rom-browserhax-homemenuhax-to-rxtools.398420/

I've tried both the regular and the autoboot but get the same error. Anyone know what's up?

I installed themehax today.

Also ran into the problem you are experiencing.
I used cubic ninja (ninjhax v1.1) to launch the homebrew launcher, and attempted to install the themehax installer version 1.2 listed on (https://gbatemp.net/threads/rxtools...rom-browserhax-homemenuhax-to-rxtools.398420/)

But that just gave the error below:
"Invalid HTTP content-size 0x0000a468. Failed to download the actual payload with HTTP: 0xfffffffd.
Install failed: 0xfffffffd.
Press the START button to exit."

The steps I took to install correctly was:

1) Changed my sysnand theme to the default white theme.
2) I copied over the starter pack to my microsd card.
3) And extracted themehax_installerSDv1.3.zip from this thread to the 3ds folder. (https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-homemenuhax.398124/page-23#post-5717329)

I believe my issue was also due to my cubic ninja still being on v1.1
4) I updated cubic ninja to v2.5 and then launched the hombrew launcher.
5) Install themehax 1.3

Themehax installed just fine.

6) From the homebrew launcher, start the themehax 1.3 installer again and change the settings to autoboot and select a button to boot to sysnand.

7) Shut down the system and test to see if it auto boots to the homebrew launcher.
I was able to cold boot directly to the homebrew launcher without using cubic ninja

I replaced the boot.3dsx with this one for reinand to autoboot directly without pressing start. "ReiNand-Autoboot-pack.zip"
From this thread, https://gbatemp.net/threads/source-release-reinand-n3ds-cfw.394309/page-31#post-5708680.

Now my n3ds boots directly into emunand.

Hope this helps

Not sure if OP was able to install Themehax.

Anyways, for future preference, make sure you delete the themehax installer folder in 3DS before copy the offline one into 3DS folder. It messes up if you just merge the folder. because they have different files. When merging, there are still files from the online themehax left which got executed, thus gives the error when installing.

Other note: You need to get into home button on the top left of button screen -> get into change theme option (but don't change theme) so theme data is created.

Ok, I've manually updated to 2.5. Is there a way to manually update to the autoboot version?

First make sure you have HAX2.5 files on SD card

1 Turn off your wifi.
2 Delete cookes and history in browser and exit back to home
3 Scan this QR code by pressing "L+R" and selecting the checkerboard icon.

4 Select "OK" to launch the web browser.
5 Once the web browser is loaded, quit and enable wifi.
6 Scan QR code again

It will load into a website with a slider bar on top left. Zoom all the way in and tap the right of the slider line and wait a few seconds. See below link. Some guides say to press A repeatedly after tapping on the screen.

May need to try a few times. These are the steps I took to get it working. If you are worried about updates check to see if your router has parental controls to block them. Or use dns settings. It shouldn't be an issue though.

Also if you are on 9.9 or above this will not work if you get a browser update prompt.
