So it's 9.9 and up right now. I think they'll get to older firmware eventually. Including 9.2. And when that happens, it kills Gateway 3DS doesn't it?

Nintendo can't, unless people on old firmwares install a new 9.9 or higher browser CIA, or update through a 9.9 or higher gamecard (or simply do a system update). The kill switch was only added to the browser starting with 9.9.

Please read last few pages. What 9.9 and up has is a dummy browser. When this dummy browser is triggered it bricked the browser unless you do an internet update. There's no known dummy browser known for <9.9 as far as we know.

quickly downgrade device from 9.2 to 4.x, long live Gateway :p
When you're at it, install MSET for Gateway and back up your NAND, then delete browser too.

Hide your wife, hide your kid!:rofl2:

bullshit! never happen here in Japan man!

When will we get browserhax for N3DS 8.1.0-0J? Wait a minute... What the browser version does "-0J" part indicate?

Well it was nice while it lasted
Yeah. Didn't see Nintendo has this trump card up their sleeves hidden until now. In one move, they cornered many homebrew users.

I meant many updated to 9.9+ when smealum hinted at Ironhax. Then it looked easy to get homebrew with TubeHax, Browserhax, ThemeHax that people kept updating to access Eshop until 10.2 release and today.

Of all used 3DS, I think there might be way more 9.9+ than between 9.2 and 9.9 at the moment. Black Monday for 3DS homebrew scene.

Internet browser still works on my old 3DS. Too bad my old 3DS's top screen is broken. I don't even have any way to check what firmware it's on.

Launch system settings through HANS, take a screenshot and check it? ;)
Probably meaningless though, if it works it just means you're below 9.9
