ROM Hack AC:NL hex editing help needed

Does anyone know how to change your AC:NL name with a hex editor? because, as I know, there is no other way.

Kaphotic's ACNL editor has a name changer, idk where it is though, a quick google search will help you.

Sorry again... but it's not working... trying to drop the garden.dat and it says: "file checksums were not updated (already valid): *the location of garden.dat*"

tried as well... doesn't seem to work... I'll try again but I don't think it'll work... does the name of the folder means something? because it doesn't do anything after I drop the folder. should it be in zip?

After I tried a little bit more I found out that if I right click on the program it will give me the option to choose the location and then it worked! thanks a lot!
