I have been trying to use your tool that is posted here - https://gbatemp.net/threads/download-seedconv-seeddb-bin-generator-for-use-with-decrypt9.392856/

I have some games on my 3ds that need cryptofixing, I have extracted my 00000000 file from my decrypted nand but when I drag & drop the 00000000 file onto seedconv.exe a black box opens for a millisecond & closes straight away & no seeddb.bin file is created

Could yu please help & let me know what I need to do to fix it

thank you

Please don't ask stuff like that in a pm - the anwer to your question might be useful to other users as well.

Your 00000000 file only contains the seeds for the seed crypto games you have installed in your NAND. If you have no seed crypto games installed, SEEDconv will find exactly zero seeds and is therefore unable to create a seeddb.bin. Does that already explain it?

If the above is the problem, you can try getting the seeds from elsewhere (not here, as sharing seeds is against the forum rules). Also note that my WIP version of Decrypt9 can generate the seeddb.bin from EmuNAND automatically (the above does still aply).

Ok, I have a new game (not even released yet) Chibi Robo Lash. It runs fine on 9.2 sysnand on N3DS with gateway, and it also runs fine on my O3DS emunand. Trying to decrypt it though... I get a "can't find seed in seeddb.bin". If the seeddb is used for cartridges as well, how am I able to play the game while I have no seed found in my 00000000 file?

Only download games can have seed crypto - that is by design, cause if it was used in cartridge games, you wouldn't be able to play them without an internet connection. If it is for the main content, sounds like a false alert to me, or it is something new that Nintendo came up with. If you're on 9.2, you don't have the 00000000 file in your NAND anyways.

A very plausible explanation is that the cartridge has seed crypto, but only for some content other than the main content (manual, download play child or even something completely different). I'll send you a PM.

I have to use it on my emunand, of course (on O3DS, anyway), and that's where I got my 00000000 file from. I have no seeds in it. And I'm having trouble generating xorpads that will work for the game. I dumped the cart myself with the GW menu.

Edit: For reference, the cart has FW 9.9 on it.

Alright. I'll be taking a look later. If you want to help, try the NCCH decryptor in my newest WIP version of Decrypt9 to decrypt the rom (you need to put the rom into /D9decrypt/ first). Then make a photo of the output and post it into the Decrypt9 WIP thread (cause I think it belongs there).

does this provide any help to fix the frozen 3ds logo loading screen for some games on n3ds emu 9.5:wacko:

Hello,

@Shadowtrance, I used your Decrypt9UI 2.2 to generate a seedsave.bin from my emunand (10.2).
I then did seeddb_gen.py seedsave.bin and got a seeddb.bin file.
Is this another way to generate this file and how do I know if it's valid?

Reason I ask is before getting seeddb.bin, Decrypt9 used to complain that there was no damn seeddb.bin.
So I got it and tried it on Samurai Defender (US) and I still had to go into eShop to make it work.

Thanx

You saw the option called "Update seeddb.bin", did you? ;) That will automatically update / generate the seeddb.bin. Also keep in mind, that the seeddb.bin is for decrypting / cryptofixing games, not for playing games.

Also, somewhat wrong thread if this is about Decrypt9!

What @d0k3 said above... and also wrong thread. :P

I tried "Update seeddb.bin" after you mentioned it above.
It found 3 seeds in my seeddb.bin, but not any new ones and said it failed.
So, the 112 byte file was good then.

What I'm wondering about is what use is it if I can still generate xorpads without it and then create a valid cia file?
That's what I really want to know.

Just to clarify this (I'm sure you already know): You need to have the seed actually in your EmuNAND - that means you need to have bought the eShop game in question and played it at least once. And well, you can't generate valid xorpads for seed games without the seed in your seeddb.bin - Decrypt9 will just stop processing.

Also, thanks for pointing this out. Finding no new seeds should not actually count as an error, so I changed it in the source code.

That's just it, I CAN generate valid xorpads for seed games without the seed in the seeddb.bin.
I use "3DS Simple CIA Converter" by Riku
http://gbatemp.net/threads/release-3ds-simple-cia-converter.384559/

If I get the frozen Nintendo 3D screen on a new crypto'ed game, I just go into eShop, locate that game and enter it and the freezing will disappear the next time I try to play it.

I've tried it on these so far:
0131e Attack on Titan Humanity in Chains (eShop) (US) (game+manual need eshop activation).cia
0150d Bloo Kid 2 (eShop) (US) (game+manual need eshop activation).cia
016AC Samurai Defender (eShop) (US) (1839) (game+manual need eshop activation).cia
016f0 Gotcha Racing (eShop) (US) (game+manual need eshop activation).cia

Thanx for your help and time

I can only assume this is because Riku's converter leaves the seed encrypted stuff as is, and once you have installed the CIA you have the (illegit) ticket in your system. Meaning: your CIAs are not actually cryptofixed. Also, that's the first time I hear about that workaround, and it is not for everyone. There might even be some banning risk involved (as Nintendo knows you haven't bought this titles) @Shadowtrance, what do you think of this?

I just updated SEEDconv. Previous versions missed (in some rare cases) some seeds, cause they didn't check the second stash of seeds in the 00000000 / seedsave.bin file. This is fixed now.

See the first post for the download or grab it from here.

is it possible for this to do the reverse, generate a 00000000 from a seedb.bin?
this might help with gateway eshop manuals not working right - maybe?
im talking about on o3ds running 10.3

Not possible. The format of the 00000000 is not completely known, plus any change to that file will lead to signatures no more matching up (and that can be a bad thing on GW, as we know). In short, if we try that, it's a recipe for disaster. Decrypt9 allows you to dump and inject the file though (it's called 'seedsave' there). You could try, using this, injecting a more complete seedsave file to your EmuNAND.

can i create a seedsave from a seedb.db?

from tinivi net seedb.bin save website is the only places i know have all the seed in their seedb.bin file

Not a working one, as I said. The file format of the seedsave is not known enough. Even the description on 3Dbrew.org doesn't suffice.
