Hacking rxtools without browser installed...

Hi guys,
just bought a used 3DS for 70 euro after having asked for FW version (7.2.0-0E) but as I got home I realized that the last number is about browser version: 0 means NO browser installed at all..

Is there any free / cheap (<= 15$) way to have to exploitable browser installed - or to get CFW anyway ?

Hope to get some good news...before selling my 3ds and looking for the right one.. :-/

I think it's possible. I just don't know if you can do it for free or under $15.
You might need to update to 9.0 or 9.2 and for that you would need a game cartridge with that firmware update.
Then you would have to try one of the existing entrypoints in that range (themehax, ninjhax, browserhax, etc). Some are already excluded as possibilities due to no browser. So I think maybe only ninjhax 2 would work and you would still need someone to give you a save with payload included to inject into Cubic Ninja and to be able to then use it to boot.

I might be wrong about what I said before or about the existence of other possibilities. So just wait for someone to give you a more accurate solution

No. There is a way to get official firmware in CIA format and then install it. But for that you need to be running a CFW first anyway and for that you need a way to boot into it like I explained before.

I used 3dnus to get firmware update 7.2.0-17E (with 17th version of the browser), but think the .cia I got packed is useless.

No cheap flashcard solution, before i sell this 3ds back again ?

Only Sky3DS but it's not cheap and it's not worth it.

So maybe it really is better to sell it back again. You save yourself more expenses and more trouble.

Actually, you're wrong. There's a thread here on hosting a SOAP server. I don't quite understand it myself though and I'm not all that new to this stuff. If He can figure it out, he can do a full upgrade to 9.0~9.2 and then He'd be golden. Good luck with that though... I'll post the link to the thread in a sec...

This has a way with Cubic Ninja. I propose that if you A)Know how to follow this and B) Know how to simply redirect calls to the Nintendo update servers to your own locally hosted site (you would try this with the internet side of your router disabled, of course), then the same process should work without the need for NTR. Basically, you would need to set your 3DS wifi connection to use your PC as a proxy, and your PC would need to point nus.wsapi.broadon.com to your local site.

Why anymore? We're talking about a system on 7.x... Also, I updated my post. You mean to use 3dnus? That doesn't matter because you can get the files from the ISO place.

Patching the 3DS is required as it uses HTTPS for the traffic by default, so you can't just spoof/reroute the traffic unpatched.

Well, crap. Cubic Ninja is still super important in some cases. Sadly, it can be such a pain to find that many people just give in and buy a Sky. That costs like ~$80 though...

I think it would be possible with OoThax/smashbroshax but you will need to have one of those games, and in the case of OoT you'll also need a way to install the hacked save (another hacked 3DS or a savedongle)
Ninjhax won't work because it requires the browser I think.

With brahma 2 or Cakebrah you can have arm 11/9 access on =<9.2. This works with ninjhax 1 and any_hax 2(means themehax, smashbroshax, oothax......)

What about updating your firmware with a real gamecart? For example Smash comes with fw 8.1 iirc.
