As the title , I have a PSP1004 with custom firmware 6.60-ME 1.6. I would like to be able to use the Universal Remote app but unfortunately it seems the app requires a different firmware or kernel and i have no real idea on how to downgrade ( or even if it is possible) .

Can it be done ? if so could you give me some idea on what i need to do.

Many thanks.

Scouse

I am reading as i go but with limited knowledge and a neanderthals brain it may take me some time :)

BTW , if i cant then its a standard universal remote , but the reason i want it is to unlock the features on my LG tv nad it will save me buying another device.

You don't run Leda, it's a plugin. To run programs with it, just put them in GAME150 instead of GAME, if I remember correctly. Anyway, iR Shell will yield easier and better results than Universal Remote unless someone revived it recently. You should be able to run that fine without Leda. Not sure if it will properly use the iR without patching the NAND, though.

Ahh right lol , tried putting it in Game150 to, no joy unfortunately.(

Its this portion of Universal Remote i am looking to use

PlayStation Portable, model PSP-1000 (1st Generation of PSPs)
You can use it to reproduce the IR hack if your PSP-1000 has been enabled to execute homebrew software. There is a homebrew application called Universal Remote v1.2 that can reproduce LIRC codes.

I have tried downgrading the firmware to 6.20 and upgrading to 6.60 Me 1.8 which had the Leda in the folder, ill keep trying :)

What I mean is you need Leda setup as a game plugin and the application in the GAME150 folder. I'd still recommend trying out iR Shell first. Though don't try to use any of the patches unless you downgrade to at most 5.00M33-6 first.

last time I ran IR she'll and used my psp as a remote was back in 2007. it's been quite some time. but even then the IR remote feature on PSP wasn't all that great. yea I could turn my tv on and off raise the volume and turn on vcrs etc... but it was buggy and sloooow. and sometimes wouldn't work to turn the TV on.

Hi, yeah the reason i am trying to get the PSP to run as a remote is to simply access the hidden menu on my LG tv which will then allow me to change a few hidden features like USB access and movie playback plus a few other picture quality settings, if i can get the PSP running Universal Remote ( or irshell if i can get it to use the LG file ) then it will save me buying a real universal remote.

If i cant get it working then ill end up forking out the ££ for one but the PSP is doing nothing so i thought i might give it a try.

Thanks

Yeah, good luck. The homebrew for the iR was very barebones. It was just too niche and short lived (removed in the later models) so nobody spent that much time developing for it.
