The same moment i just hear talking about Gambatte on OG3DS without fullspeed attached i'll stop correcting misinformation.
you should stop testing and posting results, It Won't get you anywhere.

Libretro is porting this for the 3ds in general, they won't put speedhacks or something like that.

Im just waiting for Virtual Boy to start getting faster at some point. Coming on a Month, almost all the other Cores work beautifully, yet this one seems the same like nothing changes for it. Like nothing the Devs do to it makes any difference. Like it is being stubborn. LOL. Hopefully at some point it will get figured out and join the ranks with the other Full Speed Cores

Guys, I'm a total noob when it comes to PS1 emulation. Normally I just pop other roms in a folder and read them from the emulator, but that isn't working. Do I have to do something special with the files I have?

pcsx_rearmed should work even without a bios file, some games will just not work very well.
maybe you saw it freeze and shut down your 3ds directly ? it can freeze for up to a minute but that is normal, just wait :)

It seems to want ones from the 5000 series.
Okay, I downloaded one of those and popped it in, but retroarch won't even recognize the files I put in the rom folder.
The download gave me three files: a .ccd file, an .ecm file, and a .sub file. Am I supposed to do something special with those? None of them are showing up in the emulator.

IDK, I can't test it.

You need to use an un-ecm tool; ECM is a compressed format that most PS1 emulators won't understand. It should spit out a .bin file you can load after that.

Oh, thanks! I will look one up.

quotes and stuff.
Thanks! If I have issues with the games later, I'll keep this in mind. It isn't that the games aren't running, just that apparently they're not in the right format.

I don't understand the complaints for the gambatte core.

I does run in fullspeed on o3ds in most of games.

Some games may be slower, but who cares, seriously?

a constant 60 FPS in 95% of the gameboy library is fullspeed in my book.

This discussion was dead, why did you bring it back?

I quite understand his frustration but you can't make a corpse come back to life (if you undertand what I mean lol).

Is there a video out there of a 3DS running PCSX? I can't run it myself but want to prove it to a friend that it's actually possible to run PS1 games off a 3DS. If there isn't a video out there if one of you fine ladies and/or gents ITT could make a video of it running a PS1 game (preferably a game that's well known and not an obscure title) I'd love you forever <3

Look at 1 or 2 pages before.

I hope that it's okay that I posted the performance of Megaman X 4 and Spyro the Dragon on o3ds on Youtube. Let me know if you want it taken down or if it's okay. Here's the link:

Surprisingly, I'm not seeing any videos on this yet besides mine.

EDIT: Take note that the frameskip is set at 3.
