What would backing up and restoring nnid settings do? (On different systems I mean)
I think you would get yourself a nice paperweight.

Welp, I think I've lost my Smash save data. I tried modifying the save, didn't work. I tried putting in my original save, didn't work. grah
Only reason to get that error is that you tried to boot the game with another cartridge's/console's save.

Backing up, editing, and importing works good.

I just tried dumping the save for a game Excave II but I only had it freeze at a white screen. Turned off the system, no savebackup folder at root. I wasn't supposed to make that folder myself, right?
EDIT: I better try again and make sure I pressed A, just in case.

No. It creates itself.

Games with blank / black screen won't back up. Games with black /glitchy screen will work if you press A wait some seconds, and reboot your console.

Guys, is it not possible to fix the Smash save? :#

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I'm going to try deleting the update data and re-installing it.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Okay so I deleted all the update data, and it STILL tells me the same thing.

Can I get some help here!?

every time I try to import my edited save to pokemon it doesn't work
For Pokémon it backed up a "main" file, without extension. What error are you getting?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

i can google too... i'm just too lazy for search every single PK6 file, one by one... thats why i'm asking if somebody allready done that :P

I'm not getting an error at all, I put the "Main" as is and when I press B to import it it does nothing and goes back to the HB channel

Just make sure the file is named "main" in lowercase and inside the saveDataBackup folder in the SD's root directory. It should work.

HA! I got it working! thank. I can't get it to back up my fantasy life save (digital copy) I get the *can't find save file error*

I think some games just can't be backed up yet. However, as this was just posted today, it needs more trial and error intents. Let's see how this progress, and if smea releases something soon too.

How did you get it to import? I've got it to export perfectly, but the import never does anything. It says its imported and nothing happens. I'm using O3DS tubehax. Is tubehax the problem?

For some reason, I can't import a backup'd save of Pokemon OR. After I click B, it displays some text for a split second, then returns to backup/import choices. Anyone else experience this?

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
