I see this is a ACNL thread, I am new to all of this, the RAM editor really helped my town so whoever created I owe a huge thank you to. But anyways, I am a Diehard Animal Crossing fan and the GameCube one is at the top for me. I was wondering if it is possible to change the hour music that plays to (well in my case the original hour themes) any song at all? I have been wanting this for a long time now, sorry in advance if my request is impossible or whatever. Thanks. :)

I did this exact thing using layeredFS for NTRCFW, I had to manually make the bcstm's but it was worth it

Does anyone know whether it's possible to completely remove villagers from your map? Tried to set the house coordinates too 0, 0, set the villager name too - and everything. His house is gone, and he isn't in my villager list, but now there's a big space in my town which is blank and totally solid! It's still like there's a house there. but I can't remove it. Could anyone tell me how to remove this?

Save and exit, then see if it's still there, that usually fixes it

The ram editor has coordinates, ability to change tan and face, but that's pretty much it.

I'd love to hear about how you (froggestspirit) managed to change the hourly music in the game

Okay I see
I guess he hacked his rom file, don't think we can actually do that in the ramfile we dump with acnlram.bin... Well, many things are still unknow in the ram file, like the sky. I think it should be possible to change the actual town sky with the happy home showcase sky

Is there a difference between the two?

Yep, there are trees in the background

Town sky : (no trees, also see the bridge, it's not like our bridges)

That would be awesome if it is changeable. Also, what's with that bridge? Is it the dock+a suspension bridge side-by-side?

Yes, and I'm sure it's possible, but the offset and the byte would be hard to find, because we have absolutely no idea where it's stored
No, it's a normal dock bridge, but it looks cool, our dock bridge doesn't look like this

I said that I think it's possible to change the sky (a friend of mine told me he had a black box in his sky), but I have no idea where the offset is
And the dock, no idea

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone here can help me with froggest's map/acre editor? While marc's RAM editor works like a dream, I just can't get the map editor to work for me.

Here's what I've usually done - I dump my save. Edit it with the map editor. Enter game, inject my save (I clear history and cookies every time and get a green screen). Enter/exit a building. The changes show on the touch screen but not on the physical map. Then when I save and quit it bricks my save and I have to restore it with a back up.

I'm not even making major changes. I'm not moving the dock, removing the beach, making more or less than two beach entrances, making an island, etc. Even when I simply add a pond to an empty spot it still bricks after I save/quit.

I have a 3DS/XL with 9.5.0-22U firmware with a cartridge version of ACNL. I'm using the map editor on a Mac using Wine but I've also tried it on a PC with the same results. I've read all over the forum, looked up every blogpost and video I could find but I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Sorry for the wall of text, if anyone could help I would really appreciate it. Also, Huge thanks to all the hard work everyone put into these hacks, it's made replaying Animal Crossing so much fun!

Hello, I've been using this editor for a while now and it works great for me, however recently have seen some edits in dream towns and was wondering if that could be done with this editor, and if not which editor would I use then to do it (assuming there is another I am unaware of)

I wanted to know how to change the ramp leading down to the beach from sand to grass, and how to make the grass darker. I've looked at leaf tools as it is the only other tool I know of but haven't seen anything for this. Does anyone know how this could be done? Thank you !

I don't think that's possible, since the ramp is always dirt, not grass.

You can try running that spiderhacks qr grass seeder thing, that may temporarily give you what youre looking for

@Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game

If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

@BigOnYa, why did you start saying my pc has a hamster in the first place?

I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

also @BigOnYa im making some progress on my gdevelop project, implemented various mechanics

They went all in on streaming, should have been more of a hybrid approach

Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
