Good morning everyone, Im new on this forum and very happy to join

I might sound like very noob but have few questions.

I have been using my old 3ds xl with gateway on firmware 9.2 with no problem and I bought a new 3ds xl now.

As I couldnt find a way to make a system transfer to keep everything (since there's not support for emunand 9.8 on new 3ds xl yet) I contacted nintendo (facepalm) to remotely unlink my nintendo ID from my old 3ds to at least keep that for my new 3ds xl withiout knowing I wont be able to ever perform a system transfer once my ID has been unlinked (facepalm again)

So question number 1 is there any way to transfer all my data from old 3ds xl to new one?(old is runing gateway on 9.2 and new one is on 9.0 no on gateway yet just waiting to get zelda ocarina cartridge to do so)

If not is there any way to at least transfer my monster hunter 4 save data (that have been played as a ROM with gateway no a physical copy) along with some othet games save data ive got playing other roms?

Use rxtools to dump your ticket.db, then use funkycia to download your eshop games (use something like big blue menu to install on n3ds) - can't link for that.

Use savedatafiler to transfer your saves (I think you have to google for that)

Hello guys,
Been a very long time since i was last on these forums.
I got myself a deal on a Black 3DS New and decided to get it! Therefore i also ordered a R4 3DS Gold card and this is now working fine with the 3DS.
Thing is, my 3DS keeps bothering me for updating the firmware and currently i have version 9.6 installed i believe.
Is there a website where i can check for the very latest firmware that is offered by nintendo so i can check this with the R4 website and be 100% sure i won't turn my R4 card incompatible after updating?
I think 9.8 is the latest firmware and R4 reports this should work perfectly fine (same as 9.6), but i just want to be 100% sure before i'm stuck with a gameless handheld.

For SNES and GBA emulation, I understand that the best-if-not-only choice was the DSTwo. Now that that's out of production, and the New 3DS is out with more power, is there another option that's as good? I've got a DSTwo, but I want to buy one for my brother, and I am getting a New 3DS but he's not, so I could just give him mine if I'll be able to play all my games using a different cart with the more powerful machine.

There are some reasons to keep the older one. Gateway still do not support firmware later than 9.5 in n3ds emunand. The o3ds has had much better success with supporting the latest firmware so far, even supporting the recently released 9.8 firmware. The lack of >9.5 emunand firmware support for n3ds means some games will not work (there is a workaround though to access the eshop and system transfer, although it is a pain to get your new eshop purchases onto the emunand).

There is no future-proofing for either of the consoles afaik (we are at the mercy of gateway), except insofar as that the o3ds doesn't have the same encryption which is the reason why there is still no >9.5 emunand firmware support for n3ds yet.

Also, in my opinion, the n3dsxl has inferior build quality to the o3dsxl (which both have inferior build quality to the o3ds non xl).

So, I suggest you keep the o3dsxl as a precaution because I wouldn't be surprised if gateway continues to have problems supporting the n3ds to the same level as quickly as the o3ds.

Do I install cia on emu or sys?
Should/Can I downgrade to 4.5, why?

I'm new to all of this but I've managed to downgrade my 9.2 O3DS, make an emunand with GateWay, use PBT-CFW to install DevMenu, upgrade emunand with rxTools to 9.8.

Now my question is, when I want to install CIA game updates, do I need to do it in order like for example first install the CIA for v1.1, then 1.2, then 1.3 etc. or can I just install directly the v1.3 update?

Hi everyone, long time no see.

I recently became the owner of a 2DS which hasn't been updated since its acquisition (Ver. 7.2.0-17E), and I tried to understand the various ways to crack it open since I've read somewhere else it can now be done without any external device or obscure game and allow to play certain games, but I have to admit I'm completely lost, and don't even know the benefits I will gain from doing that.

Is there a step-by-step guide to do so ? Or is any of you kind enough to explain it to me ?

If i were to buy a 9.2 3ds would i be able to buy a copy of cubic ninja, install ninjahax, use the latest .cia installer to install cubic ninja then run ninjahax off of that?

Kind of a weird question, and not sure if answerable here:

I have been renting 3DS games from GameFly and I noticed that the files save to the game cartridge.

Is there anyway to copy the save data from the cartridge to my PC or something so that when I get my Gateway and install the ROM/digital version of the game, I can continue from where I left off?

Still looking for an answer to this.

Okay, got savedatafiler to work through pasta. But when use it, all it gives me are broken user save data in the User and Ext and nothing for SD.

Is this because none of the data was originally to the 3DS I'm doing this on so it refuses to recognize the data?

Also is this the right way to look for data?

Edit: Figured that getting pasta to work probably is what wrecked the data, I'm reuploading it, but there's 20 GBs so this will take a while. Is there a way to identify the mii maker and mii plaza data so I can remove the secure code so any 3DS can read it?
