because of the save encryption.

My little brother has a N3DS with 9.6 and the only way I can help him with save editing is to have a 3ds of my own that supports 6.x encryption.

Also, the web browser is the only way of launching anything past 4.5 on the Old 3ds?

Person trying to salvage their Mii data reporting in. I got Cubic Ninja and can install NINJHAX.

The problem is I'm reading a lot of conflicting reports on if I can install/use savedatafiler or a similar program since the main way to use savedatafiler is through gateway. I did find this, but it can't help since you need to have the save data to be accessible first.

If I install NiNJHAX, and then use FBI, would that let me install savedatafiler, or is that a no go? If someone could check, or knows of a way to install savedatafiler with HB, I'd really appreciate it.

2) If I put Cubic Ninja on the card and use this guide (https://gbatemp.net/threads/howto-b...p-roms-from-retail-carts-on-o3ds-n3ds.390043/)
can I then get a private header from a retail game (i still need to buy) ? Or does it not work with the latest version of the ds?
3) can I then use that private header in the roms i want to put on the 3ds?

I assume the ds will be the latest version and I dont really like to spend more then ds + the sky3ds flashcard.

Thank you for answering my questions! Is it possible to block updates on the sysnand?

To be honest I just got both as I don't know what firmware my 3ds will be on when it arrives. Plus I read that you can use the sky3ds to use the cubic ninja and oot 3d exploits etc as to the 3ds it replicates the functionality of a real card. The sky3ds wasn't that much more than getting oot new so thought why not go for it.

The gateway does everything, but having to do the browser exploit every time might be annoying. The sky3ds is just put in and play, so each has their advantages really.

with the new 3Ds you don't use the internet exploit, you use the zelda oot/cubic ninja ones, at least one time, than you can do like the said there so you can use the "ds profile exploit" o3o

About locking the updates you can mess with parental security thing so you can set to not update unless you want to .. I'm not sure XD but just don't let the sysnand online for much time or don't mash A while it's setting up xD (I almost did it a lot of time:v ) and if you make the nand backup before you get the update prompt (btw, do it) you can restore if it keep asking you too update and stuff.
And even if you can't use GW on the firmeware it arrives, use RXtools emunand tp update, don't update the sysnand!



I'm the same with you .. almost haha well Do a sysnanand backup and then try, you can boot the same emunand, if something don't work, just restore it.
One pal told me if I want to start a new emunand from 4.x , I can use save file tool to pick everything and then put there again, but I don't tried yet

Updates can't really be 100% blocked, but there are a couple things you can do. If you unlink sysNand and emuNand, you can fill sysNand's internet connection settings with junk/dummy connections (or leave them completely empty) so it won't automatically connect to your home network. It can still grab updates from SpotPass nodes like McDonalds and such, I believe, though. The system will only automatically download updates while in sleep mode, so if you never put it to sleep while in sysNand, you should be fine. (I only ever use sysNand to get to emuNand, personally.)

If you do get an update, it will prompt you to update, but you can remove the nag by using Recovery Mode. Power on the system while holding A+L+R+Up (on D-Pad), and it'll boot into a special mode for applying updates. Just cancel out of it and restart normally, and the nag will be gone. (It's meant to clear out a corrupted update, so it deletes the downloaded update, removing the nag as well.) Recovery Mode doesn't work for emuNand, though, but sysNand is the one that's dangerous to update.

My 3ds just arrived but unfortunately it is on 9.4 I guess all I can do is use the sky3ds card for the moment, unless there is some way to get the gateway working by using the sky3ds? My flashcards haven't arrived yet, so I haven't used the 3ds much.

I figured out my problem. I had an older version of Ninjhax installed (11-21-2014).
Apparently only updating the boot.3dsx file is not enough. I also needed the latest QR Code.
Now I am able to load the modified version of Decrypt9 with no problems.

I'm not as familiar with the Sky3DS as I am with Gateway, but to the best of my knowledge, this will only work on an exploitable system (one with System Version 9.2 or below). I used the Gateway menu to dump my retail Etrian Odyssey IV card and used the header from it for my online games, and it's worked just fine. I believe with Sky3DS, you use the header to alter your template file rather than the rom files directly, but I'm not 100% sure of the process.

A second-hand system can be just about anywhere in terms of System Version, since most places that buy them won't bother to update them after they get them. There's actually a fairly good chance that it'll be on an exploitable version. I know Gamestop allows returns on used items within 7 days for full refund for any reason, so if it's not exploitable, you could go that route. If the system is not exploitable and you don't wish to return it, you can try obtaining a private header from someone on the forums.

Then I bought a bigger SDHC card to have more space since the normal one just has 2gb, I try to install Big Blue Menu again, and it says:

I'm installing to SD, should I install to nand? I read that's dangerous.

haha ok, there is not because the 3DS sysannd cant run homebrew without exploit, and then you need the exploit to run it.

I don't know if they make the homebrew channel work with the DS profile exploit, if yes you could downgrade your 3DS and stuff ... but I really don't know lol

Why is it that when I try to boot title manager(big blue), i'm getting an eternal 3ds loading screen?(with the red lines and stuff)? I made sure the big blue files are in their respective SD cards.

Good morning everyone, Im new on this forum and very happy to join

I might sound like very noob but have few questions.

I have been using my old 3ds xl with gateway on firmware 9.2 with no problem and I bought a new 3ds xl now.

As I couldnt find a way to make a system transfer to keep everything (since there's not support for emunand 9.8 on new 3ds xl yet) I contacted nintendo (facepalm) to remotely unlink my nintendo ID from my old 3ds to at least keep that for my new 3ds xl withiout knowing I wont be able to ever perform a system transfer once my ID has been unlinked (facepalm again)

So question number 1 is there any way to transfer all my data from old 3ds xl to new one?(old is runing gateway on 9.2 and new one is on 9.0 no on gateway yet just waiting to get zelda ocarina cartridge to do so)

If not is there any way to at least transfer my monster hunter 4 save data (that have been played as a ROM with gateway no a physical copy) along with some othet games save data ive got playing other roms?

Kind of a weird question, and not sure if answerable here:

I have been renting 3DS games from GameFly and I noticed that the files save to the game cartridge.

Is there anyway to copy the save data from the cartridge to my PC or something so that when I get my Gateway and install the ROM/digital version of the game, I can continue from where I left off?
