Is it possible to downgrade titles with this using Cubic Ninja?
Yup. You need to uninstall the title and then install the old version. For the most part there's no "going down" versions, only up. And remove the title and install old at the same time, rebooting or exiting FBI may cause issues depending on what you removed. (Eg. it won't boot any more)

Uninstall the title you want to downgrade and then install the older one without rebooting.
Does that include system titles, specifically the NDS whitelist and DSi firmware?

Nah, you can go back to those later. But generally quitting FBI after removing anything is a bad idea. Use the network install feature if you don't have the old CIA on the SD.

As always, triple check the titleid before removing anything.

I'd thank you, but you two clearly distracted me so you could steal the copy of Cubic Ninja I had right next to me 10 minutes ago.
Oh pssh whatevs. I've had my copy since it was announced as the HECKING GAEM. (Had a copy before that but cousin "lost" it :\)

I can never get the Network install feature to work. Always get "Misaligned Size" error.
It's probably just your WiFi then. I've only gotten it once in the last few weeks. Using up to date FBI and socketpunch.

SaveDataFiler and DevMenu aren't legit CIAs so they won' install.(before you ask, AFAIK unless you're Nintendo, it is impossible to create a legit DM/SDF CIA)
How would you go about installing/using SaveDataFiler without a Gateway then if you can't even install it through FBI?

I am, looking through the guide and not seeing what could be wrong.
You started Pasta, then used FBI and tried to install SDF? (Just making sure.)

Because I just installed it to check, totally works.

The problem's been resolved, it was where some of the data to install pasta was placed and a bad version of savedatafiler. However all the data in savedatafiler is reading as broken, so I get a new fun issue. Damn it, I just want to get my old Mii data, why is nothing easy?

Thanks though.

SDF on my system is doing the same. Pretty sure all my data is fine and SDF is just displaying it as "broken". But I've never used it before now so I could be wrong.
I'm trying to reupload all my old files, but it's over 20gbs, so it's taking a bit of time. If you have any progress. Please tell me how you did it. Thank you.

Does SDF even have anything to do with Mii data? That would be extdatatool...

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

i dont have an sd card adapter but I have an usb sd card adapter

    For your R4
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
but why choose it over ysmenu @Psionic Roshambo?

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Slightly slower loading but a bit more convenient
