Hacking Is it possible to boot R4i Gold from a CFW or NinjaHax?

What's the purpose? You run a NDS card to play NDS ROMs/Homebrews which you can do without any modifications.

The only thing I can think of is if the card in question is blocked by newer firmwares, in which case I guess it's a "yes", as you can downgrade the whitelist that blocks it, though once that's applied you no longer need the Ninjhax

Then at that point, my question would become "why?" You can run CIA files from CFW and the card is more than likely not updated to run anything modern.
If you're running a CFW and want ROMs, run them from the CFW. If you want something from Ninjhax, run the CFW from there directly.

Well, if you're hell bent on using it, you'd have to downgrade your console to 4.X. If you're on a "New" console, you're already out of luck.
Once you confirm you're able to do that, you'd do well to heavily read the wiki page (especially since the wrong version can randomly brick your console!) and note the limitations (lack for SDK7+ games, apparent lack of support for EmuNAND past maybe 7.X) and whether you're wiling to deal with them. Its functionality is more than likely to be "as-is" with no means of updating aside from getting a proper GW or migrating your data to a CFW.

Basically, major RTFM, many limits, make sure you know what you're doing but theoretically doable.
