Gaming Mario Kart 8 Discussion Thread

It's cool that once you hit the rank 8k your opponents will be from classes 8+ so that means races will be a lot more challenging, win more or lose a lot of points and just a much better experience than playing against 4k's and 5k's.

Went online for the first time without having finished the majority of the cups with 3 Stars and not having touched 150/200 at all. Went a lot smoother than expected. Soon-ish i will dethrone WiiCube.

But here's the thing I played Mario Kart Wii earlier today and it felt really useful to have a backup item available yet on what's possibly the best version of Mario Kart 8 we don't have it. Battle Mode is a piece of crap, but for a racing game it's pretty awesome.

Now there's a reason why they didn't include voice-chat or you'd hear pissed off people about it.

Nothing wrong with a black mii but yeah the name would PO some.

Inspired by the Saturday Night Live "ESPN Classics" skits with Pete Twinkle and Greg Stink created the ugliest mii I could the other week and named it "Vagisil". Not that you see the names frequently unless you spam "Not Fair" constantly in the lobby.

Pondering some other feminine hygiene names for some miis. Maybe some medical condition names would be good like Proctalgia Fugaxm which literally means pain In the butt.

Can you get a ban for a mii name?

I've officially given up playing Mario Kart 8 and now my Wii U makes that noise but oh well, it goes away quickly. Ready for Splatoon.

I might get back to Mario Kart 8 but only if Nintendo announces a 3rd DLC Pack.

Don't bother with the 10k golden shit, you'll eventually get there and honestly, the Normal/DLC vehicle/parts are way better.

Is there a way I can use my mii with online points on an account that is not mine?

EG main account has 4k points and I unlocked everything but now I have my own account but have to start again. So under the 4k account use my account with everything unlocked

TOO bad it sucks.. i can't see how you guys don't realize this game is behind "gamplay wise"

I personally just don't have any interest for MK8 due to lack of new content otherwise I'd still play it.

ya apart from analogue triggers i think game is v. good for what it is and can't see much else on the market which trumps it.

Mario Kart's an arcade racer that you mostly go at full speed so for once analogue triggers aren't important. It is however very unMK8 to press B when you're racing in 200cc.

I agree. It is a very bare bones game (not even referencing the battle mode). I've been thinking how do you make it more "fleshed out" to bring it in line with a 2015/2014 game??

Track maker maybe?
A story mode like Diddy Kong racing 64 (I personally thought that game was shit)?
Better online competitions?
