once Kaphotics and SciresM figures out scripting for Pokemon and reisyukaku fully figures out BCH we can literally make Pokemon ROM hacks that have a completely different look, we could literally change the game so much we could remake Kanto for example, hard but possible

KashiToxicBlood glad to see you're back The game has basically been polished up quite a bit (check front page)along with new extra rival battles and there's a continual effort of producing pretty documentation to go with the game. Yeah some updated screenshots of the wild pokemon, rival battles and gym would be v nice!

I must have some bad luck, ditched my old file and pack hack folder to restart following the video and still I get a black screen.

Decrypt a normal Y rom and rebuild it without any edits and see if it works.

Just tested th vanilla rom, that works fine.
Will decrypt and rebuild it once I get back in a couple hours.

Something must be going wrong in what you're doing to decrypt and rebuild because the method definitely works.

I'm sure it does since you and others have done the same.
I'm just not sure what's going wrong if I'm literally doing it step by step and carefully going over everything this second to time ensure that I was doing it properly.
When I decrpyt I follow "
Put in the root of your SD Card :
- rxTool.dat (from PackHack)
- slot0x25KeyX.bin (from PackHack)
- YourRom.3ds(or named as you want)

Take the SD card out of your computer and put it in the 3DS

Launch the WebBrowser on your 3DS, erase cookies and data, and go to this URL : http://launch.rxtools.net/

Now, go in "Decryption Options" and launch "Decrypt CTR Titles". It will take a bit of time to finish.

Then I head over to the hacktoolkit and follow those steps, every step I followed and with your instructions not sure how someone can do a misstep if read properly. But hey I could be that guy
this time I even manually copied and pasted the a folder instead of using the patcher incase maybe it screwed last time.

Ahh that may be it, I grabbed 1.2 over the weekend before 1.2.1 came out, should have tried to newest one >.<

Yeah haha I was going through all the possibilities and it just hit me that that was the issue. My fault really for not specifying that I'd fixed the issue to those who downloaded early!

The patcher, you just drag the folder and thats it? There's no confirmation it was successful?

Ok gdgd! Also, when you drag it will ask for full or lite version. Click your choice and a bar will appear briefly and will fill up quickly when it's done it'll go back to the main screen of the patcher then you'll know it's been patched

This works with 4.x sysNAND. It is possible to use 9.x with this tool, but I don't know how it operates.

1. Download and extract this tool
2. Copy rom into the for_sd folder and run this in cmd:

python ctrKeyGen.py rom.3ds

3. This will create a new file named ncchinfo.bin. Copy this, the Launcher.dat, and the slot0x25KeyX.bin file to the big sdcard.
4. Start the DS Profile exploit ( assuming you already have it installed ) This will create the xorpads
5. After its done, turn 3ds off and remove the big sdcard and copy the .xorpad files into the root folder of the downloaded tool. ( with the .bat file )
6. with the rom in the same directory as the xorpads, drag the rom file into the .bat file to start the program.
7. Hit these three numbers: 7,8,9. Then hit the s key to start.
8. After it successfully extracts the romfs, it will give you the opportunity to modify the files. This is when you manually install the mods and banner if you wish.
9. Rebuild the romfs.bin and replace the old one.
10. Continue with the tool, it will create a .rsf file and open it in Notepad++. All you have to do is make sure it doesn't have any weird looking characters and close it.
11. It will ask you if the rsf is correct, hit yes if it looked ok, otherwise hit no.
12. Continue and it will generate a installable cia file for you

I did all those steps and i get a black screen on my 3ds saying "An error has occurred"

you might be missing 1 file, it's one that isn't mentioned called "Firmware.bin" it's possible you're missing just that one file, because I needed to get that one before I was able to run it.
