Maaaaaybe it could work:
Say, you had a Japanese 3DS, in which you downloaded Cubic Ninja from the eShop.
Then, (If it was above 4.5) you'd need to downgrade.
If there are any JPN consoles out there with CN from the eShop installed, it could work.

I think that this is a great release.
I have read trought all of the posts as of now and have already heared some people complaining about the CFW, that it destroys the 3DS.
That may be true, but there are a lot of points against it, and you most likely know them.
But I think that the CFW is a great chance for the 3DS in terms of Homebrew and Romhacks.
The first thing I did after installing this CFW was to install my own Homebrew and my NSMB2 rom hack. (All works fine!)
I know, romhacks and homebrew was also accesable for everyone with a hackable 3ds before througth the crappy CFW, but with this it is possible to play romhacks for newer games like sm4sh, without owning a Gateway, only thing you need is CN or a sky3ds.
Correct me if I am wrong and say me what you think about this.

Wow, it did not take long for someone to turn that pastebin into working CFW. Nice work!
Still a copy of CN can cost nearly as much as a Gateway... I'm hoping for a mset version so I can warez up my brother's 3DS properly. He did not much care for how unstable the leaked CFW is :P

So, anyone actually tested this? You install BigBlueMenu onto Sysnand and then you don't need Cubic Ninja ever again?

well, that doesn't work like this, you still need CN to start the CFW every time you boot the device.

The CFW (like any other CFW for the 3DS ever released) is only temporary. If you power off the console you still need Cubic Ninja.

...until someone updates the DS profile hack to work with this. That would be so fricken sweet.

No, you'll need CN every time you want to boot into CFW. Someone might port it to MSET or webkit, in which case you'd only need CN once at most.

And your console needs to be on 9.2 or lower. If you're on anything higher than this you are SOL (Shit Outta Luck).

Keys are ALREADY loaded by arm9loader since the first N3DS firmware.

Just like I said. Puzzle Dragons does NOT load, even with NTR. It shows the cart being installed though, so NTR's region free is obviously working. But it does not load. Going to test Xenoblade now but I expect the exact same results.

Also, Xenoblade never straight works on NTR before, even retail card. There's zero reason why this should work now. I'm only testing because you said the keys are already initialized and I believe they aren't and GW actually loads them so this still locks us out of anything requiring 9.4+

thank you, keep us updated on your results ;)

NTR doesn't spoof the firmware. You're stuck playing games that require fw 9.2 or less (if your 3DS is on fw 9.2).

If, for example, you're on fw 8.1, you can only play games that require 8.1 or less.

....aaaaand Xenoblade doesn't work. So back to what I originally said. We still need 9.4+ keys for this to be the end-all and get rid of Waitway for good.

Once again, it's not a matter of keys, it's a matter of FIRM version.

So you are saying they reloaded upper firmware which inits the keys as well?

Gateway spoofs the firmware version. That's why Xenoblade (fw 9.4) works on emuNAND fw 9.0 with sysNAND 9.0.

the issue is that you can't run the CN cia without signature patches, so you won't be able to patch signature in the first place (you have to do that process everytime you boot the device)
How about...

Load a Cubic Ninja CIA through PBT-CFW and use it to load this? Could that work?
It might sound counter intuitive and redundant, but there could be some benefit to it over using just PBT-CFW... I don't know :P

Keys ARE already loaded.
I know that, I used them in my 9.0 firmware to decrypt Xenoblade Chronicles.
And Puzzle and Dragons does NOT require any special key.
Gateway simply loads 9.7 FIRM on Old 3DS and 9.5 FIRM on New 3DS whatever is the version installed.
