Hey guys

I still need help getting the new method working on a n3ds.
Booted the n3ds into gateway menu and installed to vram.
Booted to gateway mode and installed the mset.cia with dev menu. Worked flawlessly and completed.

Turned the n3ds off and on again, go to settings .... but it went all through to the profiles page without entering the gateway mode.

Do you have any clue what I did wrong?

Did you install the cia in emuNAND? The instructions weren't clear on that. To install to SYSNAND you need to have a card without emuNAND on it.

Every time I try to launch devmenu.3ds it comes to black screen with smth. like "there's no card inserted, press home button to return to home menu" (sorry for translation, my menu's in Russian).
Meanwhile all the .3ds games and BigBlueMenu.3ds work like a charm.
I use devmenu.csu --> .3ds from SDK 2.3.4. Cannot understand what I do wrong.

Try running GW Diagnostics first (it clears the SPI), then run devmenu

Try copying Launcher.dat back over to the SD card. If that doesn't work you should try formatting the card with SD Formatter and redo everything.

FW4.4 might have stability issues with GW3.2. Maybe try updating with a retail cart that has 4.5 from this list.

I will give it a go. Thank you. Been driving me crazy. Hopefully it works.

Didn't help. Black screen with "... press home button ..."
Tried FBI. Got:
Raw error: 0xe0e083ee
Module: AM (0x20)
Level: Usage (0x1c)
Summary: Invalid argument (0x7)
Description: Invalid combination (0x3ee)
Tried different SD cards, different file formats (FAT16, FAT32, exFAT), updated console to 9.2. Nothing helped.

csus are cias. Are you saying you just renamed the file extension? If so you need to get the actual devmenu.3ds and use that or install the csu as a cia with BBM.

Tried different devmenu.3ds' from different sources from people who succeeded in mset*.CIA installation. The result is always the same: black screen.

Don't want to install devmenu.cia through bigbluemenu.3ds to SYSNAND. Don't want to get my NEW3DS bricked.

If you don't want to risk it, then don't go through with it (or wait until another update/guide is better). You can still use Gateway with your N3DS without it.

Will downgrading my "system settings" on N3DS kill my 6.0.0+ encrypted save data? I never downgraded my 9.2 SysNAND on O3DS because my save data would become corrupted, so I wonder if the same problem occurs here.

That cia installs to your sd card and isn't going to brick a damn thing. -.-

Use this and your problems will end:
File: DevMenu_2x.cia
CRC-32: 2a9a7966
MD4: 5c8ecfb68c6962a7293a259d76626420
MD5: 16dad9b20243446d3987d4dd26dfb93e
SHA-1: 73199c461b109da92e252a333f8e7186aec8ace4

It came with the giovanify 3DS_CFW.7z if that helps you locate it. I recommend cia's because it eliminates the likelihood of file fragmentation errors common with cci (3ds) installers.

Yes, I can. But I don't understand why DevMenu doesn't work on my console.
There is another post http://gbatemp.net/threads/gateway-3-2-1-ultra-public-beta.387877/page-10#post-5475153 with the same problem.
There's way more than one post with that exact problem. I don't understand either, but the best help I could give you would be to repeat the same troubleshooting suggestions that everyone else has said multiple times in this thread (that you have already said don't work or aren't willing to try): format microSD, format sysNAND, use older DevMenu version, use BBM to install DevMenu, etc.
