Hardware Wii and SDs...

I'm probably going to find the answer later on the day but if anyone could appease my mind or helping avoid getting my high hopes on, accordingly, I'd appreciate.

I bough a second hand Wii at a very low price, seemed OK when I bought it, but upon trying Letterbomb noticed that the Wii didn't accept my SD card, saying that the device inserted on the SD slot could no be used.

I tested two SD cards, both of them equal (two 2GB Toshibas, the ones that came with the original 3DS:

). Is there any known incompatibility with these cards or is it probably a Wii hardware problem?

Make sure the Wii is on the latest firmware. I think there are some old firmware versions that don't support FAT32. Letter Bomb will only work on newer firmware, anyway. If that doesn't work, more information could be helpful. Like what format is the SD card using?

I formatted the cards in FAT32 using Windows tool, first did a wuick format, then a 'slow' one. I can try SD card formatter later too. Both have the lock swich up.

Could try FAT16, aka FAT under Windows, but I doubt that would make a difference. It wouldn't hurt to try the software migles linked you. Is the SD card showing up at all, you can tell via the SD menu on the Wii menu. If not, and you've tried the tool and made sure it's formatted properly, it's possible there's a contact issue.

When I put the SD card on the Wii, the SD card logo on the lower left of the home screen becomes blue. If I click it it says "The Device Inserted In The SD Card Slot Can't Be Used", without it inside it simply says there is no SD card inserted. Same goes for save game/channel manager.

i already proved that windows formatting tool is a piece of garbage.

do what i said, use that formatting tool
options: full overwrite; format size adjustement ON

if it doesn't work that way, try with another sd card or even a micro sd with an adapter, this way you can make sure its hardware fault.

Nop, no luck, also looking through the slot with a flash light seems like the copper pins been messed with, the metal cover is loose as well

Try taking it apart and lining up the pins. I've seen messed up pins before, they're not that hard to straighten out, just a bit of trial and error (to make sure they have a good connection).

There I fixed it:

Materials used:
- Swiss army knife;
- Improvised tri-wing screwdriver (from a traditional screwdriver):
- WD-40;
- SD to microSD adapter;
- Toothpick.

The problem was that they made poor contact even after straighten up, as some were almost broken, therefore needed some pressure applyed. By using the adapter and the toothpick, it has contant pressure and contact. Not a particular elegant solution, but works.
