Emunand is working, the picture above is my emunand working and ive called folders on that mode "EMU" so that I can tell easily

So did Gateway get it working and release something or..?

They released a beta, if you have a 3ds with gateway or a save dongle + zelda OOT:3d or Cubic ninja you can use emunand up to 9.0, not 9.6

9.6 may take a while but im set for a while without needing to play certain games

Whats the easiest way to update emunand while we wait?

If you want update your emunand to 9.2 then you can use the smash bros retail card or the rom if you have an us console. For eu you can use mama cooking Bon appetit retail or rom. For JP i dont know but there must be also a game with 9.x update.

I've played all of them on my DS Lite, they're good games.
What I'd like to do is play all of them in the original Japanese GBA format, once there is a good emulator for GBA on the 3DS

Yes, it would be possible. Just hold the "up-key" on the d-pad while entering the gw-mode (you don't need to enter gw menu first). After doing that you are able to update the emunand using a rom.

No, the highest FW an EU-Rom is coming with is Cooking Mama: Bon Appetit, it has FW 9.2. But there is no need to update to a higher FW atm, cause with both 9.2 and 9.5 you can't access the e-shop, so it doesn't matter if you have 9.2 or 9.5
