Definitely try again, it's working on my 4.5-9U 3DS which has identical offsets.
ok, tried a few times... nothing, then ran some other default homebrew, THEN ran it and it worked.
Sweet line demo :)

We wouldn't have released betas for arm9 stuff, since they wouldn't have been required for what needed to be done. How many individual builds? I think we had about six commits between public and what we just released.

That's the response I was expecting. But ultimately the progress made between builds is what should be measured not the amount of builds itself.

Who cares about progress between teams, though? We really need to clear the tension between these projects, and the community needs to be willing to do that, too.
You're right, pitting individuals or groups against each other is not conducive to a healthy scene/community. So I'm going to make an effort not to perpetuate or contribute to that kind of thing in the future.

Also no, we're absolutely not fully open-source since anything past this point will contribute directly to piracy.
Thanks for clearing that up. As a layman I automatically associate "ARM9 kernel" with "can be used to enable ROM loading".

line demo? This is their cfw demo. Just dumped my nand from cubic ninja. (granted it was on 4.5 but hey)

Sad part is, I've never seen this in the ps3 scene back when there were more than one CFW released. It is definitely sad.

Nice, sometimes it's a bit more difficult to get working, but other times it launches successfully. I've had rather good luck with it myself.

Sorry we've been so quiet recently, we've all been up to a lot of different stuff.
Anyways, new feature! AM has been patched to allow downgrading of system modules and such. This has a lot of capability, but the most interesting parts are that it'll allow users to re-enable ninjhax on 9.5+, and also re-enabling browser-hax on 9.5.0-23. I'll test in a bit to see if these work on sysnand as well. If they do work on sysnand (they should, these tickets and tmds are still signed), you'll be able to re-enable ninjhax and browser hax on 9.5 as well, until you update at least.

devmenu lets you uninstall the browser, and you can just reinstall the old cia normally from there :)

-edit - is it possible for you to patch AM to disable background system updates from being downloaded = no update nag?

It can? I actually didn't know this. I will say that I've had a few run in's while doing some tests with region unlocking where I couldn't downgrade a particular system app due to the versioning, so this will most likely help there, and maybe for those who want to downgrade their emuNAND for whatever reason, idk. Maybe even sysNAND, although that's a bit risky and we'd have to test that thoroughly before we could release anything.

I believe both parties have indicated that they'll do this. Roxas has said that he doesn't care about piracy, and that he intends to make his work open source "at some point".

At this stage though, it seems both parties are going to wait until someone else opens the proverbial floodgates first.

Just updated the OP with a short summary of our ARM9 branch, also did a bit of cleanup in the repo as well. Since I'm still waiting for my SD reader to arrive I'll probably set up another survey for the success rate of getting into ARM9, as well as correcting some faulty offsets in that area. I'm hoping our ARM9 branch will be cleaned up within the week, but with the way things are going anything can happen.

Edit: Just to get things going, I recall that there was an almost 100% failure rate in 8.1, can someone confirm this? It might have been 7.2 as well.

We have to re-port some of the changes archshift made, too, since he helped clean up our bootstrap code a pretty considerable amount.

I actually started on that a bit, got a few things re-ported over. But yes, basically on our agenda is cleaning up ARM9 for proper use since it's a bit of a mess at the moment and also maybe making our default payload a bit more functional. I'm thinking I might try porting Decrypt9 or some other things to work as a .3dsx just as an example for people to go off of. Minus well make use of what we have since it's gone public now.

Oh, really? If this is indeed the case, then I've read something wrong somewhere and it does not work on my unit.

yep, I'm clearly doing something, if not everything, wrong.

The reason I assume was right right is because of this post:
ARM9 Kernel Branch is open, you can take a looksie here. If you want to test, feel free. Payload is under data/payload.bin, just does the same framebuffer stripe murder I demoed earlier when I first got ARM9, so nothing special.
