Any progress updates today? Seems the devs have only been talking among themselves about the project in general. Not rushing or anything. Just got used to seeing Dazz post something that blows everyone's mind every other day or so.

It's been a slow weekend tbh. I'm working on getting my N3DS fixed up with a hard mod because I kinda updated the sysNAND >.< In my defense it's a lot harder to tell which one you're in.

Other than that we're just kinda chugging along, mostly working with patching the various bits in the system like the home menu and also working on porting the OoT exploit for 8.1J users (probably will do ninjhax as well). We're progressing, just not as seemingly rapid as before. I mean, I could say that I have APT decompiled and I found the command handler function, but not many people would know what that means.

I don't know why you can claim anti-piracy even though Relys is using devmenu.

We're not enabling piracy and that's how it will remain. There is nothing to discuss.

I'd be surprised if there isn't a warez loader in 4 weeks, and all I'll say is it won't be because of us.

Can't you just release a broken beta and fix it along the way? :ninja:

We don't really even have enough to release, or at least if we scrapped out some of our development stuff.

EDIT: Basically what Dazzozo said, nothing is at all user friendly, and I myself even managed to update my sysNAND by accident because we have no safety measures for that kind of thing (no GW3D, any sort of emuNAND indicator other than folders and other utilities)

The way I understand it, and ofc I could be totally wrong here, is that once Nintendo drops the 9.6 update that fixes the new but flawed encryption in the n3DS there will be no more eShop nor system transfering for n3DS owners with emunand.

Given the fact that Nintendo usually spits out updates faster the months following a new systems release and that the encryption has been broken since over a month, I'd say 9.6 will hit before the end of March. Which I think is also the real reason for Gateways hasty n3DS update.

tl;dr I never ate sushi but I heard it tastes delicious.

Release this and do you really think it would be piracy free. Yeah you guys keep on thinking that I'm sure geohot didn't want any piracy on his CFW that didn't work out so well. Something like this is nice to show "What we can do" but I would never release this if I cared about piracy as much as you guys do because you know there is some asshole lurker around here just waiting for you to release this so he could patch your FIRM and enable piracy. I'm no coder but it wouldn't be that hard.

I would also like to note that Smea said that cubic ninja could not do kernal access. Well you guys proved him wrong and you think there won't be piracy because you coded it that way or implanted DRM I find it very funny almost like a bad joke.

thats why they are keeping the FIRM patching closed source......yeah it doesnt make it impossible, but it raises the bar from a relative noob coder referencing 3Dbrew to enable piracy to someone that really could/should of just done it by themselves or with the OSKA team
