Hacking [HOWTO] Use OOT Exploit on SKY3DS/Non Working Carts

So anyone got this working on JP 8.1?And am i the only one thinking gw didnt brick sky so gw and sky works at the same time and just maybe this is because they are the same team after all and we are in the middle of a Big money trap?

I think this is more of a case of Gateway being unable to find an exploit that doesn't require a retail game and Sky3DS conveniently being able to emulate them.

oh... what the... tried with the duowan save file for jpn OoT.
After waiting 5-10 sec and then the white screen for a few seconds, gateway logo popped up!

So to confirm that's gateway running on my 8.1 JP fw N3DS, no need to update to 9.2

Your fw 8.1? Did you do it with sky or retail OoT?

Yes i thought of it also although devs say sky can easily be blocked seems like it requires some serious skills that even gw team are not capable of

Why should GW block Sky. For many of us it is now the only way to use our GW cart. GW can not expect that everyone has the right OoT cart at hand.
So everybody can be happy now. GW fanboys and Sky fanboys - lets shake hands!

Working perfectly on my (Aus) N3DS. BlargSNES, and GameYOB work as well as CIA. However, the PrBoom still does not work. Here's to hoping that now that the N3DS has access, there can be more Homebrew/Emulators Developed or looked into.

Please provide your working ROM with CRC32. (Rar it with Winrar and the CRC32 stands on the right half of the windows when you open the file with winrar)

Good News! After updating the emunand, GW is working! Although in the settings it still doesn't say GW3D.
Multi rom menu popped up, games can be run from the GW card.
Classic mode's region free also works.

So even if you're on 8.1, it still works but you have to update emunand and be careful about it cause it doesn't say GW3D. Change your folder layout/name and maybe your username in the settings to differentiate between emunand and sysnand.

First Japanese save would corrupt on me every time. Second Japanese save works up to the white screen but no Gateway screen. Guess I'll start trying other sd cards. Don't have a limitless supply though

*nope - second card, same behavior. Not going to mess with it until there's more information out there.

we already talking about 8.1 and that we got it working in some other threads, sorry you didn't see it earlier! (thanks for the duowan link though - although i personally have the legit cart anyway)

Question: I've been playing a retail cart MH4U EU on a 3ds XL GW emunand 9.5 in classic mode - when starting it in the JP N3DS 9.5 in classic mode it says the save data is corrupted, being a retail cart I thought they'd be plug n' play?
what do I have to do to make it work with the N3DS?

what do I have to do to make it work with the N3DS?

what sysnand version is the old3ds on? i'm guessing 4.5 or something? if so, it is because the save encryptioin being used is the old one (because the new real one it should be using could not be used)
if your sysnand version is higher than like... 6.0 or something, the real save encryption will be used in classic mode.
you will have to play the rom+save in gw mode, or convert your save somehow, i think it might be possible
