hi! i installed nocash unlaunch on my dsi and i want to remove it ,the "uninstall" file don't work and idk why HELP ME PLEASSSSEEEEE
If using the safe Unlaunch installer doesn't uninstall Unlaunch, you can restore a pre-Unlaunch NAND backup using Safe NAND Manager.

Just set up a Ds Pico but i have a question :
Do i need to set up the anti-piracy patches for the flashcard or are already built in in the DS Pico firmware?

Does the DSi DEV cart MA93104 flash have a limit on the number of times it can be erased and written?
The one I bought seems to be completely new and blank.
I've probably flashed it about 7 times.
Next, I'm planning to test the modified TWL EVA DEV ROM, which might get flashed around 50 times.

I'm not sure of an exact limit, but I did kill one of that chip from writing. It was maybe 20 times? Though to be fair, it wasn't stored the best before I bought it, so that may have shortened the lifespan.

Hi, I bought a DSi XL for £20 (~ $27) and it works fine, but I don't have a flashcart so I want to know if this one is good?

https://a.aliexpress.com/_EjygTMI

I'll probably play it for 5mins and then awkwardly never use it again. 😅
On a DSi you don't need a flashcard, you can just install CFW. If you do want a flashcard, the DS Pico is general recommendation now, with ChisFamily store being the recommended seller on AliExpress.

For more details, see https://www.flashcarts.net/ds-quick-start-guide

$27? Really cheap, but I can't open the link to check.
You can play on a DSi XL without a flashcard, you can just use an SD card directly.
.
DSpico on the Chinese market is already around 20 RMB ($3), really cheap.
But for flash carts, I still personally prefer the R4com or DSone/DSonei.
Post automatically merged:

Recently, a Chinese developer(@Archeychen ) made an RTS/ Save States feature for nds-bootstrap, and there's already a test version that works on some DS flashcards. Any detailed news?

Yea you don't need a flashcart (unless you really want to), you can use an sd card to install Hiyacfw (and Unlaunch too) to play ds & dsi games via TWilightMenu (and emulators too if that's your thing).

Also run everything from the sd card as the DSi own internal storage is... faulty is word.
Do DSi eMMC chips usually have any problems?
I've flashed the NAND countless times and have never run into issues with the eMMC chip.
I’ve also hardly ever seen discussions about eMMC chip failures on Chinese forums.
.
Every time the DSi powers on, doesn't it read and write to the NAND?
So just using an SD card doesn't help at all.
.
Someone previously posted on rvtr's GitHub about NAND/eMMC, and he fixed using TWL EVA formatting?
But he didn't try any other methods at all.

The DSi is so faulty I outright recommend getting a old 2DS instead unless you can get one really cheap as it is way more prone to brickage that any model of 3DS.

Of course old 2DS have gotten a lot more expensive in the last year and a half, so whatever.

DSi XL at least has a better screen so it's ideal for DS games and it's much more comfortable than holding an O2DS.

In England for example, O2DS consoles are fairly cheap at least for now, while O3DS XL and N2DS XL / N3DS XL hold their value.

With unlaunch you can avoid those NAND writes, but yes it normally writes every single time the DSi Menu runs.

There used to be a ton of fear around doing anything at all with NAND because if you messed it up you were done, but now that we've got ntrboot/gcdboot I don't really think its much of a concern anymore. Just keep a NAND backup and don't do stupid things and you'll be just fine.

I've not heard of a NAND-based brick that didn't involve touching some critical file in some way (besides very rare outright chip failure), and those are fixable now
