If you don't mind my asking, what's the current state of things? What, if anything, has changed due to the Gateway release? Any new bugs/exceptions/problems/progress? It looks like there's some sort of new entry point through OOT3D, but requires putting doctored save onto the cart. Is that correct? Curious is I.

Likely nothing has changed for them except for now having another entry point to port KARL to.

I mean, not sure why anything would change. It's not like gateway is using a new exploit or anything, just a new method of using previous exploits.

Having a N3DS 9.0.0 as download play host and a 2DS 6.2.0 as client did not trigger any update prompt, at least not with Luigi's Mansion 2. What game did you use?

Luigi's Mansion 2 comes with the 4.5 update. So no, it wouldn't prompt an update for 6.2.0 2DS.

I have a US cubic ninja that I used for my US 3DS (Accidentally updated it, but I have it sent to be hard-modded so I can flash the Nand back) so since I can't use that 3DS, I'm left with a European 4.5 3DS. I know I can't boot up KARL on a CFW Cubic Ninja game (Because of having to format emunand...) So, will this have the Profile Exploit at release or will that come after the Cubic Ninja release? Just want to know because I might not have my US 3DS reflashed for a while rendering my CN useless.

Might be able to swap the SecureInfo_A/B file on your EUR 3DS with the US one if you have access to a nand backup that you can decrypt (from the US unit). Not sure if that would work to allow CN to boot KARL or not though. I'm thinking yes, but I've never tried it so could be wrong there.

Just popping in before I hop off the forum for the night to tell you guy congratulations on all your progress. Gateway's blatant teenage girl mentality saved you the time and hassle of figuring out most of the OoT entry point usage.

Hope to see more stuff by you guys soon, or even a release! rxMode and eShop demos are holding me over until release.

Hey sorry I never replied to this. When I tried doing download play with Mario Kart 7 (eShop version, not cartridge) it asked the rest of the 3DS systems that were downloading from my 2DS to update to 9.5.0.

I wonder if eShop vs Cartridge makes a difference in regards to this?

Just wanting to ask if this is like a lot of other "Region Free" related Homebrew/exploits. I don't want something like "RegionThree" which requires a weird process to play region locked a game every time.

I want to ask this because I'm looking for a modification to the system that will allow playing any region of cartridge without having to repeat the exploit every single time. If this isn't really possible just let me know and I'll stop actively looking for something that just modifies the firmware permanently.

not possible sorry, all 3ds hacking stuff relies on 'weird processes', well, everything apart from playing games using a sky3ds - that simply just works.
but no way to permanently make your 3ds play out of region games without hacking it each and every time you turn it on

it would work i think yes, no reason it should not. i mean, none of this is possible now/yet using cubic ninja, so, provided everything gets released, it should be possible

It's not like we're not going to release - yes, it'll work fine. In fact, you could probably put multiple cubic ninjas on with saves for different consoles even.
