Hacking Update EmuNAND

Hi,

Can I update my EmuNAND by using eShop (if it asks me) or by an update nag?

Am I forced to update EmuNAND by doing System Update on System Settings?

only update emunand under system settings and make sure it says GW before the version number

nope, you can actually update emunand any way you like, but to prevent noobs messing up and updating sysnand its always suggested you only do it via system settings so you can double check you actually are in emunand

I would just trust them. I did my first emuNAND update through e-shop but system settings seems to be the better route.

It seems very easy to know if you're in EmuNAND (you can set a theme, if you're in eShop it would mean that you're on EmuNAND)...

You'd be surprised how many people thought the same thing before updating their sysNAND.

not to mention once you set up emunand, it will always boot into emunand, but the first time anyone updates their emunand, it would look exactly the same as their sysnand, whatever version they may be on, the only way people can mess it up is if they don't setup emunand altogether and just assume because they can use gateway its automatically setup....so thats why its only ever suggested to update via system settings....its just to save the newbies who don't know any better

Yeah but if I've done FORMAT EMUNAND in Gateway Menu, I could update EmuNAND by the way I like (if I'm sure that I'm on EmuNAND) isn't it?

Such a debate, is it really a problem to update through system settings for you ?

It's not a necessity, just an extra security measure to prevent you from accidentally updating your sysNAND, you can do whatever you want.

When I put WiFi on in EmuNAND, it predownloads the update in SysNAND (even if I don't use this one)?
