I just got DKCR and I was thrilled to find it had a hack to use the Classic Controller. What excited me even more was that some people were saying Okami and NSMBWii had them too.

Where are these codes? I can't find them, and how many other games have cheats that do this?

Controls:
Y=Run
B=Jump
D-pad=Directional
R=Shake

notes:
When using this code, Shake will no longer work with players not using a classic controller. Also i could have shortened the code some removing unnecessary buttons but i didn't

I haven't seen any others aside from DKCR, but I'm sure if they're out there Google will help you locate them.

Simple testing the code seems to work well but i haven't played very far in the game.

Likely not Dolphin compatible, no need anyways!

Quick question about your code then, no tilt? Isn't that pretty key?
No clue! It's not my code (I just happened to have it saved), and I haven't played through the game using it. Tilt doesn't appear to be mapped to any buttons, so I'd assume you'd need to use the remote for that part. IIRC, tilt stuff isn't too frequent, but I'm sure it will get annoying switching back and forth nonetheless...

noob question here... how do you use these hacks

I got one answer and one question.

You answer:

In CFG usb loader, under options you have to enable Ocarina Cheat, then save.
On the second option page there is a button to download any cheat available for that game, once downloaded , apply any desired cheat ( and don't forget to enable Ocarina ).
If you don't have an internet connection available , you can just download the cheats offline ( they are plain text files like the above cheats ) and put them in the USBloader/Code folder on your SD card.
They must be renamed like the game ( e.g. R79JAF.txt ) so the cfg loader will see them and enable them.

Now my question: Most importantly actually , how to create such codes ?
I'd love to create my own codes and customize controls to my liking !

No offense but why on earth would you want to play Okami Wii on a CCP when it's designed specifically to work with motion controls? It it maybe because you were one of those people who couldn't get their head around the "anti-waggle" fighting system? It wouldn't even translate to the CCP well as you'd still have to use accurate timing instead of just hammering the button like the PS2 version. The rest of the stuff like drawing on the screen is superb and only further highlights that Okami is so well suited to the wiimote..

Sorry for the bump, but I thought I'd try to help out with some links:

Does anyone know of any others? Is there a place that is cataloging them? (Such as a cheat repository?) [ Edit (2013/11/10): Apparently some of these are cataloged on GeckoCodes, which can be accessed directly through Wii using the Accio Hacks app. However, not all of the codes listed above are on GeckoCodes yet, from what I can tell. ]

I, for one, would really like to see a classic controller (or preferably even Gamecube controller) hack for Kirby's Epic Yarn. If anyone has seen such a thing, please do post it here.

Sorry for the bump, but I thought I'd try to help out with some links:

  • I see Dogbert8's post above includes a classic controller hack for New Super Mario Brothers Wii.
  • Crediar's classic controller hack for Donkey Kong Country Returns is available here as well as here.
  • It seems like Crediar might have also done Kirby's Return to Dreamland.

Interested in this as well. Thanks for sharing the Kirby RtD code, I know Newer Super Mario Bros Wii uses a much better CC controller code that doesn't interfere with other controllers and has tilt support but I haven't found the individual code yet.

If someone has too much time, here my idea:
dont change from wiimote to a different controller but modifiy the controls. like twilight princess, it's nice to aim there with the mote but annoying to waggle all the time to hit, so maybe it's possible to put the hit onto a button like on the gamecube version (you could play the gc version, but i think it has no 16:9 and some minor differences).

in general its really interesting to change the controller, maybe also for the following games:
all kirby titles
wario land shake

but maybe if you are that versed into changing your controls, why don't you use dolphin emulator? you can set your controller how you want it in any way...

super mario galaxy controls are also annoying.... should work better with a normal controller imho... maybe not the aiming for the little stars, but that can player 2 do maybe...

Classic controller hacks...
Okay, well, does anyone know of, or is able to make a patch for SMG2 that has Classic/GC controller support? Or would anyone be able to tell me how to make these patches myself? Someone seemed to ask this earlier, but there was no reply. Anyway, if someone could provide how to code something like that, or a premade patch, that'd be cool, thanks.

It seems the Gamecube Controller code for Kirby's Return to Dreamland has been lost to time. I think the domain "wiird.l0nk.org" (which I linked above) has not been active for over a year. I searched in the Wayback Machine to no avail. The last record they have is for page 4 of the conversation, which includes crediar's announcement of the classic controller patch. However, the last "message ID" on this page was 75867, whereas the one linked above was 75877--just a a bit short!

If anyone is able to find the Gamecube Controller code, please do post it here.

Hopefully the other links in my post above work properly, and hopefully most of the codes are now posted on Gecko Codes. If both of the above fail, fear not! I have archived the remaining codes, and will happily re-post them upon PM.

Interestingly, the site I mentioned above is back up currently, making the Kirby's Return to Dreamland Gamecube Controller code available once again. In case it goes away, however, I have pasted it below.

To the person who was interested in how to make classic controller hacks: according to crediar (who made a good deal of the ones in existence), the process is difficult/time-consuming, fairly unique to each game, and requires assembly knowledge.

I would love to see Gamecube controller support for NFS Carbon for the Wii.

Hope somebody can figure that out, but I guess it's not so hard as the layout from NFS Undercover can be used - maybe with some modifications.

I wish there was one for either classic controller or Gamecube support for Punch-Out!! With GC support, I could use an adapter I have to use original NES controllers. With CC Support, at least we would have a standard pad option. As it stands now, there is only Wiimote and Balance Board support enabled by default.

Also what is the difference between txt and gct files? If I download a txt file containing cheats in usbloader, do I have to save or make a gct file after selecting cheats prior to launching the game?
