Crediar released his patch to add the Classic Controller to Kirby's Return to Dreamland.

There are in fact two patches:
The first one is a gameconfig.txt file to disable the metafortress Anti Piracy check from the game.

The second one is the classic Controller patch, done with Wiird/Ocarina. It requires the first patch to work.

He asks to not re-host the current gameconfig.txt patch as he may update it or fix it if required.

gameconfig here : http://crediar.no-ip.com/krtdcd.txt

I don't have that game to test it, but gameconfig.txt has to be placed on the root of the SD card for most loaders, or inside the /codes/ folder. Check or ask your favorite Loader's user base.

Last post in that thread has a cheat for Gamecube controller support as well. (Still needs the metafortress disabler gameconfig.txt to work I think)

With the Gamecube controller, they could make the C-analog stick act like the Wiimote shaking.

Edit:
ah, it seems the shaking is added (but doesn't tell how to do it. Maybe just a button press).

^You have to add this file (http://crediar.no-ip.com/krtdcd.txt) to the root of your sd card and rename it "gameconfig.txt". If your sd card already has gameconfig.txt you need to add all the text from "SUKE01:" and onward to the end of the gameconfig file you already have. But that's not all...

I've created a GCT file that contains the codes to enable Gamecube controller and Classic Controller support that you can download here (http://www.mediafire...55n1f3zj7f0z3wu). Save that file (SUKE01.gct) to the "X:\codes\" folder of your sd card (X being the drive letter and root of your SD card). If you don't have a codes folder create it. As far as I know you can then boot the game from either Gecko OS or USB Loader GX, just make sure that Ocarina is enabled in the game load settings. If you have any trouble configuring the loader settings you can google it, but honestly it's pretty straightforward.

If you can't get it working, make sure that Gecko and USB Loader are fully updated. If that still doesn't work then I'll try creating a separate GCT for either GC controller support only or Classic controller support only, that you can try one at a time. Supposedly shaking is mapped to the D-Pad but I haven't gotten the chance to test any of this out just yet so let me know what is/isn't working. I'm mainly just interested in allowing other players to use Gamecube controllers since I've only got one wiimote, but the peeps on the other board were saying something about the game still needing a Wii controller to sync. The guy that made the code said he's still working on a bypass for that so we'll see.

I don't know if you can use Wiimote while the controller hack is enabled, as it enable (remap?) the buttons for all four players.
I guess it's the same with the GC hack.

Crediar delivers as usual :D
Wished the CC hack worked with SUKJ01 (Kirby JPN version), but the game gives black screen at launch when code is active :/

Crediar is one of the best programmers in the wii scene. The only person/group that does better is Team Twiizers, but they don't meddle in the affairs of us game-playing-end-users. Too bad, because they can do everything possible.

The first one is a gameconfig.txt file to disable the metafortress Anti Piracy check from the game.

It's not anti piracy, it's anti patches. That's why Ocarina and language patches are failing. If you don't patch the game, it should run on any loader without the gameconfig.txt.

You need a different gameconfig.txt for the japanese version of the game. Does the gameconfig.txt contain the patches for the japanese version already?

Edit: Forgot that you need a gameconfig.txt and a gct for the japanese version, not just the gameconfig.txt.

Where is the cheat? The links are all dead.

Got the gameconfig bit though.

Found it:

The issue with this code is that no button or stick is mapped to shake which means for a few sections you need to pick up the remote.

Does anyone have a mirror of the gamecube controller code? It would be amazing if I could play this game with my 3 friends with gamecube controllers.

From this thread regarding Classic Controller hacks:

It seems the Gamecube Controller code for Kirby's Return to Dreamland has been lost to time. I think the domain "wiird.l0nk.org" (which I linked above) has not been active for over a year. I searched in the Wayback Machine to no avail. The last record they have is for page 4 of the conversation, which includes crediar's announcement of the classic controller patch. However, the last "message ID" on this page was 75867, whereas the one linked above was 75877--just a a bit short!

If anyone is able to find the Gamecube Controller code, please do post it here.

Hopefully the other links in my post above work properly, and hopefully most of the codes are now posted on Gecko Codes. If both of the above fail, fear not! I have archived the remaining codes, and will happily re-post them upon PM.

I hope it's OK to ask this here, rather than start a new topic...

I need a copy of the gameconfig.txt file that Crediar asked people to not re-distribute. His site is down now, and I can't find it anywhere, despite looking on and off for a week. Trying to play Kirby: Return to Dreamland with a Classic Controller, but I need that file...

Does anyone here have a backup of the gameconfig.txt that disables MetaFortress? It goes in the USB/codes folder, right? I'm using CFG Loader with default settings.

Thanks in advance for any help!

P.S.: I'm looking for the necessary codes and such to use the Classic Controller on Donkey Kong Country Returns, too. Actually, I'd love to have codes that allow the use of that controller in as many games as possible!
