Hacking Probably did something stupid, but for a good reason.

So, I got fed up of the consequences of using the MT Card emuNAND feature so I decided to restore my 9.2 sysNAND backup and update it.

Reason why I updated:

  • Can't play Pokemon Y without erasing save data first
  • My eShop purchases launch in Japanese (WTF?)
  • Some titles just crash when I launch them, I.E. Super Pokemon Rumble
  • Home menu icons don't stay in the places that I leave them (every time I put an icon in a specific place and reboot, they've moved!)
I have a NAND saved on my laptop so if I ever buy the New 3DS, I can transfer my stuff then just restore my backup with the hardware mod (which I currently haven't done as I don't want to break my console at the moment).

soooo yeah probably should have gotten a gateway card ,also Nand backups are not interchangeable your nand backup is slightly worthless unless you plan on keeping your current 3DS and nand modding it to flash it back.

you should re-read the post. the current 3DS has a NAND backup and a hardware mod. why would they not keep a 3DS with a NAND hardmod. nobody ever mentioned selling or getting rid of the console.

What is the point of this thread? to me, it seems like it is a "here is what I just did" kind of thread if anything.

Honestly, if I had a Gateway - I'd only use it for emuNAND, not really worth it in my opinion. I plan on NAND modding it later, once I get a New 3DS so I can transfer all of my purchases.

I just wanted peoples opinion on the subject, see if they agree with what I did. As for the NAND mod thing, I haven't done it just yet - though I can do that later in the future anyway, I already have the NAND backup that was made with GW to I can just restore it once I've modded it.

You could of done that from the buggy MT emunand anyway, no need for a NAND mod jut to do a system tansfer

But yeah pretty pointless thread really....news flash, I'm eating some ice cream, I chose to do this as I like ice cream

Yeah, I know. I can be impatient and I still wanted to enjoy my games while I don't have a new console yet.

And yeah, I know this thread is pointless xD. Still though, may inform others of how the MT emuNAND can be a bitch.

The current MT launcher is not designed to work with 9.5, they generally aren't too long copying gateways updates, so I would be expecting a new MT launcher sometime soon
