Forever as in they couldn't just flip the switch the other way? Not that they would I just wondered. I guess the question now is why, I'm guessing headers personally.

Formatted Sysnad, how will I know which is the emunand partition won't they look the same? Got to re-install the exploit now, so wont be much longer.

Just backup your emuNAND with emuNAND Tool and copy your SD files to any folder on the PC.
Then format your sysNAND and create another emuNAND using the format option on the Gateway Menu, it will be everything fresh. Then you update your emuNAND, but I recommend trying to go online with any game first.
If it doesn't work, you can just restore your emuNAND backup and everything will be like before.

EDIT: Oh, didn't notice the two pages ahead of the actual quote. LOL
I was late.

I've just sent an email to Gateway, just in case they haven't been informed, I've included all the information gathered here.

Dear Gateway,

I'd just like to inform you, in case you didn't already know, Nintendo have started banning consoles that have been playing games online using Flash Carts. The Error Code of the ban is 002-0102. Nintendo has confirmed this to be a ban but aren't willing to specify the reason for the ban. Formatting the Sysnand and Emunand doesn't fix this, which leads us to believe that this is a full console ban of some sort, rather than a NNID or Friend Code ban. We don't know how Nintendo detected that the games weren't legitimate but most of the speculation seems to point towards the ROM headers, possibly from using public ones but there are unconfirmed reports of bans from people who were using private headers. There are confirmed bans from both users of Gateway3DS and Sky3DS.

Hopefully you guys can come up with some sort of fix or workaround for the effected Gateway3DS users.

Thanks,
Jamie.

Wow, so many people in dark around here.
All consoles have a console ID and Mac Address, when a game server bans a person, they blacklist both the console ID and Mac Address.
Mac addresses are only shared with the router. Unless they're embedded in the packets as another ID, blacklisting a Mac Address does nothing.

Proof that the error is indeed a ban....

How is that proof that it's a ban?

please inquire with the Nintendo Technical Support Center(s) mentioned in the user's manual.

I mean, it could very well be a ban but it doesn't flat out say it is one.

The point of the post was to show both 3DS connected to the same network. One access online, the other does not.

At the same time, I believe this error is the same people are encountering through this thread, which is the one OP, if I'm not wrong, confirmed it was a ban. You are right, could be completely unrelated, but I still think it is.

I just wanted to point out that it doesn't flat out say that it's a ban. Even though it very likely could be one.

The way I read that post was as if there was definite proof.

They always reply me
Well, yes. They do reply. It's just that recently they've haven't really replied to anything.

It really isnt helping anybody with how disorganized people are being. How this is happening in obviously unclear, it would help everybody if we had some semblance of consistent info from people reporting being banned. Such as:

flashcard
Region
Sys nand/emu nand version
rom/rom region typically played on banned console
Header used - public/private and from which game

There is a well formatted post that lists every 'ban', with all these information. Just read the thread. I don't remember page number.

The current list of bans (which is probably outdated by now) is here: http://gbatemp.net/threads/error-code-002-0102-have-i-been-banned.380654/page-28#post-5325996
