I think it's pretty obvious that companies don't want piracy to happen freely. What you stated is simply the obvious.

But there's also nothing wrong with what I said. Piracy sells consoles. That's a fact. Unless you make them, if you want to pirate something, you need to have the console first. I never said if it's good or bad. ;)

Obviously, but what Omegart asked was why they were packaging and shipping New 3DS' with 9.0, you acted like it was because they knew that Gateway would ship the consoles. No - it's because when they made the New 3DS, they were on 9.0 (9.2 in the case of localisation).

nope. they simply know that piracy sells consoles. lol

Piracy kills consoles. Especially consoles sold at such a small profit, for companies in such a rut.

the "lol" there should tell you I wasn't serious ;)

But there's a tedious little modifier in the sentence too: "should"

It's like people don't realize that GaryOPA is just an admin, not actually working with/for Gateway. He's keeping up with all this just like us, with a little more communication to and from Gateway.

Aw, and I had news articles all ready to tell you how piracy killed the DS and PSP. Have a good one.

No, wrong again, buddy. Emulators are out there, and if you're patient you will eventually be able to play games for free without buying their respective consoles.

Great I got my 3ds microsd running perfect. Now for the GW microsd. I format to exFat and just place roms on root of the microsd and put it in the red GW card?

Exactly, GaryOPA is just giving us the info he has available. I won't hold him to any timeline, but I will offer thanks for the hope. :)

last time I check GW isn't an emulator. We're not talking about emulators.

that doesn't give you the right to insult him as you did before tho. Regardless of him being right or wrong, I think it's obvious that people should know he's just the admin of a forum and simply might be able to communicate a bit more easily with GW's team. It doesn't mean he's inside the loop.

No need. Like I said, I think it's obvious that piracy as a whole is bad. My point was just that it can also help to sell consoles even if it might be bad for the company altogether.

all snipped... wrong drive... damn

lordy lord piracy debates are always a tug of war....lets just say, Rampant Piracy may be bad....but its not a console killer....just look at the NDS and wii, probably 2 of the easiest consoles to pirate on, and they both did pretty well, where as the PSP, also easy to pirate on did pretty bad......truth is it all depends on how easy it is combined with your target audience, with many nintendo games being aimed at a younger audience, piracy isnt a end all death, but if your console is aimed more towards a teenage/young adult audience that demographic is more inclined to pirate......so as always it all depends

I did set my timer on 48 hours and guess what: at T minus 10 the battery went flat and the timer started again at 48 hours after inserting a new battery.....happens each time, for weeks in a row now. Luckily I have a 4.5XL with Gateway to play games during the countdowns.....
