You can always buy a prepaid visa as well, enough to cover the costs. Should be available at coincidence shops, or even your bank. Covers up your name, so it's one step harder to track.

Why is everyone so worried about this? It doesn't apply the thing automatically and it only pesters you once a day. Sure I'd rather not have the new FW downloaded, but it's just not that big of a deal. My 4.5 unit has been pestering since it was announced on 3DBrew not to update past that.

I remember some people telling it's not working for systems above 9.0 might be wrong though.

Xenophy formatted his 9.x and it worked. It just has to connect to the Internet to format, which will cause a scare, but it's not meant to update your console.

The problem with the formatting is that if you have games bought on eshop, the format will delete them and as you can't access the eshop without the last update, you won't be able to redownload them.

That is indeed a problem, but when emuNAND is introduced, I doubt it will be an issue anymore.

You can't reformat on 9.x without having to install the latest update first, therefore you cannot delete the already downloaded update data. You're stuck with the nag on 9.x if you get it. If you had it before 9.3 came out you could format and it wasn't an issue because 9.2 is supported.

Gateway 3DS working on the New Nintendo 3DS.

I'm a bit bored currently, watching NewsLeecher download "perfectly legal" things from usenet and a progress bar as ~3GB's transfers over to my mSD has me looking for something to do while it all completes.

And of all stupidness no one has posted "pwr-tmntdoto" to usenet. I mean, I expect it to be crap (I'm archiving full US sets, if you must know) but is it really THAT crap?!? FFS, Imagine games get posted.

I will be able to confirm it, or not, in a few days (I was saying the window near everyday so if it doesn't appear during the next days, will seem it's a valid method to get rid of it).

I plan to update this 3DS soon anyway (just keeping it on 9.2 to test, I have another 3DS on 4.5 so I don't need to stay on 9.2 with this one). If the update is stored on the sysnand, it mean the 3DS can be updated without a SD card so once I'll update it, I'll try to do it without a SD card.

I just tried on my 9.2 and it says "This function requires wireless communication to be enabled"

Sources say you must update to the latest FW from Nintendo before the format function will work

Has anyone bought a GW or sky3DS anonymously? Not that I'm bothered coz I have mine but I was just thinking how could you do it, I had to pay by debit card, to my address .. totally traceable.

For what reason would this be necessary? I thought playing backups of your games on flashcarts didnt impose on any legality
