Do you guys for a minute think they ever really thought it was "few days" 2 weeks ago? I personally think they knew that it was/is weeks if not months away and chose to lie. WTF kind of customer relations is that?

Of course they did. Their software is done and they're developers. I know a tiny thing can mess up but c'mon, this is WAY beyond that. Honestly, they're being dicks. It might not be voluntarily, for they don't know to deal with customers, but still dicks.

At no point they stopped and recognized that they suck at predicting when their own job will be completed? Who the hell messes up estimates that much? Imagine being given work, and you are off by a month on how long it will take you to do? How is that even possible?

I dont think its possible for anyone to genuinely think they will release "in a few days" for a month on end... that is the definition of incompetent.

Have you gotten the Skype 7.0 update? Cause it looks very beautiful x) its following the styles that all OS's are moving towards. Flat and clean, if you look at the Windows 8/10 Skype app it looks even better.

Ever tried making your own program? There's always something unplanned that gets added to your list of things that need to get done. It can be very unpredictable, the problem is that they made the announcement too early.

Yes, actually I am a programmer and have made games on Xbox360/One and PlayStation 3/4 and DS/3DS actually.. and no... you always have dadlines and milestones. you know when you will be done. you dont have "emergency come up OMG huge delay".... and if you do, its not "one every 2 days for a month".

Even so, with what's going on now (a lot of there existing users becoming disappointed or even mad about the release) how is that gonna look like to future customers looking for a flashcart? They will see how Gateway users are reacting and flock over to Sky3DS.

Ironic is it not? Make an announcement to get more customers, but in the end Sky3DS gains more. And this is all coming from a Gateway owner.

I know people will keep finding excuses but to me, they lied to us. And not once but a couple of times.
I feel cheated. You can always find an excuse for them because they always left that window for excuses ON PURPOSE, but I think they just plain out lied to us to keep us from buying Sky3DS.
That's it.

But if you think about it... it takes ZERO work, to just say you have something working, put together a video "faking it", then just disapear with the cash. I mean if there is no way for them to overcome anything past 4.5, its either give up and close shop. Or give up and close shop but first rake in as much as you can. Noone can do anything against you since they would be admitting to piracy. And there are sooooooooo many excuse to stall the release.. like "we are adding aditional support" and "setting up servers" etc etc.

Every dev team I know, and I would personally release FW for 9.0-9.2 (as this covers MAJORITY of your customers, since you told them to update to 9.2), then make new releases when new versions are added. Any PR handbook will tell you, holding back releases like this is terrible for your business. Releasing 9.0-9.2 would cover at least half of the people waiting for the release, make them happy and avid supporters. Holding back like this to appease a tiny fraction of the users that are still on 6, 7 and 8 is moronic!

Unless there is no FW, and they are just coming up with excuses until sales dry up then they get a nice condo in Hawaii and retire.

Not like this exact thing hasnt happened in the scene in the past... WiiKey is one example I can think of off top of my head. DS-Xtreme is another... actually by track record and all this wishy washiness DS-Xtreme is almost exactly like Gateway, almost as if they are the same people.
