Netsh does the same anyway. And the hosted network mode is one of the driver features in windows 7, as well as costom MAC. So it won't do a workaround for atheros anyway because the same dricer method is used.

I tested to change my mac address on my atheros card and then reset the adapter and start the hostednetwork, it worked.

Just got Homepass working on my DD-WRT router, thanks very much for all the information. I was wondering if there was a way to cycle through the MAC addresses automatically? I did see something on page 10 but I couldn't make sense of it.

And with nzone script you instantly got BSOD, right? If so, can you try to change hosted network manipulation with shell execute of netsh wlan set hostednetwork and see what happens?

Cron is enabled in Management. I go to Commands paste in this
Code:
wget -O /tmp/nzone.sh http://nintendozone.no-ip.org/install; chmod +x /tmp/nzone.sh; /tmp/nzone.sh BASE16,GBATEMP
And then it spits out
Code:
/bin/sh: eval: line 1: /tmp/nzone.sh: not found
.

Any idea what I've done wrong?

I've got this router daisy chained up to another router if that makes any difference.

Yes in this case second router must be connected by the wan port, otherwise it have no DNS serve configired which is needed for script to work.

Not to intrude on this, but I -might- be having an issue. I have homepass set up (previously used for pokemon ORAS) and now I am trying to use it for Animal Crossing.

I have everything working, or so it seems. I can connect to the access point & internet, my 3ds says I am in a nintendo zone but after cycling through 4 different macs and waiting 10 minutes each time I am getitng zero street passes.

Last time I did this for pokemon I got streetpasses almost immediately, and now I am getting nothing (except for my 3ds saying I am in a nintendo zone and the top screen says "street pass").

Any idea what's going on?

Looks like I can't get the VMWare to work again. It was working after a few tries at the beginning but now a few days later it doesn't work at all. Rebooted, ran as admin, switched usb ports. Homepass is not working anymore. >.<

I am wondering if it is my usb network adapter. What is everyone else using that works?

I'm looking to do the relay using the method described here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSjx0s12sZg [1]

Can anyone link me to a wireless USB device that is confirmed to work with this method? Apparently the TP-Link WN722N is not working, currently, so I don't know which one to buy.

Thanks so much!

I have the same adapter. I am having trouble with it too.
