Hi. I just got a blue button sky 3ds and whenever i plug it in to my 3ds no game icon appears. I have used both the latest and oldest disk writer as well as the newest and oldest templates and tried different versions of 3 different roms all of which were the right region. When i insert the card i get a solid blue light for 5 seconds and nothing when i press the button. Im currently using a 2gb Kingston sdc. I've also tried the following trick that was suggested to someone else in another thread.

Try removing the microsd card from flashcart. Insert flashcart with no microsd into the slot of 3DS. Power on and you will see light blinking from the card. Once light stop blinking. Power off the 3DS console and insert the microsd into the flashcart. Insert the flashcart and power on again. If first time there is no game icon. Click and enter the setting of homescreen. Then exit out from setting by pressing button "X". Your game icon should appear now.

Any idea whats wrong and how to fix? Thank you in advance.

I haven't head of this, and I'm trying to think what could be the problem.

Did you format the MicroSD with the writer before burning games onto it?

Okay, then.

A problem I've been experiencing is that: When the system boots up, it looks for the last loaded rom. When I switch memory cards, it can't find it.
The fix I use for this issue is: I hold the button down until it switches to the next game, which is actually the first on the other MicroSD. Once it's done flashing, I eject the cart for a second, and reinsert it. Then, the first game on the new MicroSD pops up.

Could you try something like that? I'm not sure if you already have, though.

Hi, I have the same problem that 8bitflame reported. I purchased a red button Sky3DS and when I plug it, no game icon appears and the blue light is always off. I have tried everything, but I didn't find a solution.
The Sky3DS was a Christmas gift for my son and now he is quite sad because he can't play with the games I promised him .
Please, somebody knows what to do to solve this problem?

Have you tried holding the button down for five seconds, ejecting the cart, and reinserting it (keeping in mind that the light may not blink before ejecting it)?

The only time I've seen anything like this is when I switch or modify MicroSDs, so my experience is limited.

Never give a child a unstable, experimental hack for a Christmas present. What is your plan if Nintendo blocks the card?

Interesting. I tried the 1GB MicroSD out of my DSlite's cart (I don't own a 2GB MicroSD anymore. It's 2014 going on 2015.). I couldn't get it to work with FAT (SD Formatter) or FAT32 (Diskpart). I even checked it to make sure it wasn't corrupting data, but it seems fine. I haven't tried anything below 8GB so far, which might be the reason this issue has been so elusive.

If that is indeed the case, it may be a obscure but important issue. Good work with your troubleshooting!

ya i spent the better part of the day on it as i wanted to make sure the cart worked. i was waiting on my 64gb card to come in the mail. i ended up taking the 32gb one out of my phone and backing it up and using it and it worked fine using the same games i had been using to test the 2gb card.
i emailed sky about it and they where useless. first they where like its the games try different ones. i told them what i had done and that the games worked on the 32gb card. they responded with maybe u need to format the sd cards......

for anyone wondering what i did to test, i used 4 different 2gb cards and 2 different games. i did the same thing on all 4 cards. this was all done with the newest diskwriter and template.

1) loaded up diskwriter and pointed it at the template file
2) formatted the card
3) loaded game A onto sd card
4) put sd card into cart and cart into 3ds. nothing happened, not even the blue light came on.
5) put sd card back in pc
6) deleted game A and put game B on and did steps 4 and 5 again
7) deleted game B then formatted the sd card(thinking maybe it didnt format right) and did steps 3-6 again
8) deleted game B off and formatted again
9) put both games on this time. same result as step 4

i did that with all 4 2gb sd cards with the same results. the brands of the cards for those interested where PNY, Lexar, Sandisk, and transcend. the cards work fine in windows and other devices so they are not dead. i have a feeling that sky is not the one who came up with the hack and are getting it from someone else and sky is just the face for it. now that my 64gb card is here and the cart is working im happy with it. it works well and i dont mind the game switching as its about the time it would take to swap a cart anyways.

They need to now fix the 31 game/rom limit.
I thought I had more games on the card last week. I misspoke.
The Sky3DS cant write more than 31 games on each card. Sky3ds team said that they would fix it in an update. Hopefully, they can do this soon.

Other than that, its a great card. A real thing that actually works right now.
