Anyone tested ?
EmuNAND to 9.4 as 2.2 gave 9.2 support ?

Searched it, apparently, it was released as a beta for testing. They really did not want to bring this as news yet.

Same exploit, same "Launcher.dat" but... it keeps getting updated, had different multiROM menu (don't know if it is same as GW now), have a (VERY LIMITED) cheat support (save editiing ?) so... a clone with a team behind, not like R4i Deluxe or Orange and so...

And price is lower than GW if I remember well.

If GW really comes with a 4.x to 9.2 support (on sysNAND), will see if MT can compete, however, it can be considered, AMHO, as a good clone competitor

It may have NOT started as a pure clone ,as their had their own multi rom before gateway , just like sky3ds is not really a clone as it has the unique feature of working in all FW's . But the truth is that right now they are not much more than a clone.... because except the save editing , which is really minor , all other new features are being copied from gateway , nothing new is being innovated. Yes , the multirom has been copied and it'ds now like GW's ( makes sense since theirs is shet)

If it is reverse engineered to have all of the features that they want from the competition, but still handle their own support and software, it's more like an "identical twin" than a complete copy.

For example: I own a R5SDHC, but I use the latest writer and template from the Sky3DS website. That's because the R5SDHC is a clone of the Sky3DS red button version, and is identical in (almost) every way. Can anyone test to see if the latest Gateway software works on a MT Card? If it doesn't, I don't consider it a clone.

The reason I bring this up is because it's misleading terminology. If a perspective buyer researches Gateway on this site, and finds that MT Card is considered a clone of the Gateway, they might chose to buy the MT Card instead, and would likely be disappointed that Gateway's latest firmwares don't work with it.

If someone chooses to buy a clone, it's their own fault to begin with. So I can't follow your logic there.

In any case, MT-Card started out as a clone. Then it evolve to a clone with some unique but crap functionalities. Then it regressed back to a clone.
Sure, MT-Card has a team behind them, one that actually cares about "updating" their card. But if they're still making money and selling, who wouldn't?
They basically reverse engineer what GW does. Kudos for them for having at least that much skill but they're a clone nonetheless. The only reason why they can't use GW's software is because GW is actually skilled enough to prevent it from happening again, at least directly.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.
If it works like GW, looks like GW and doesn't support as good as GW, then it's probably a GW's clone

You can call it whatever you want. Clone or downgraded version of Gateway.
In the end, they still work the same way basically and if they can't use the same software directly, it's only because it's protected to prevent it.
