I've been MIA since I've been off playing my Gateway on my 3ds. I see that Sky3ds now has a NO limit on their Blue card. And Gateway still hasn't released their version to work with the latest firmware, but I'm sure they'll release it. Anyway I was watching the video on the Sky3ds website, it was interesting to see the button on the card being pressed and that's how you select the games. I'm debating about getting one, it looks easier to use then the 2 card swap Gateway. Anyone else ditching the Gateway for the Sky or not?

With the Sky3DS It's actually quite annoying to press the button repeatedly if you have a large number of games on there. I would just wait as really there isn't any benefit if you already have a gateway that works.

Also something to keep in mind is that the new 9.X exploit looks the most hassle free judging from the video. I'm hoping it's as simple as putting in the red card to enter gateway mode.

GW's new update probably won't need the blue card, switching games is a lot easier with GW than Sky and it has a lot more features plus it's cheaper.
Once Sky3DS gets blocked, it might be blocked forever, it will never have emuNAND or firmware spoofing so you'll be limited to the games supported by your 3DS firmware version if you want to keep using the Sky3DS.
I see no reason to get a Sky3DS over a GW at this point. Maybe in the future when GW is blocked in the factory firmware and your only option for a new 3DS is Sky3DS, but as long as you are able to use GW it's a much better option.

I'm very worried the new gateway update will lose a lot of features of the 4.5 gateway. For example, can you still back up your sysnand? It doesn't look like there'll be a gateway menu anymore...

I guess I never thought about pushing the button (especially large files on micro card) until you find the game you want, good point. I do hope it's easy to just use one card with the new 9.x firmware. Thanks for the help

Does gateway lag at all if you have a lot of roms on the microsd card in the red/white card

I believe it comes down to what you want out of your 3DS. If you want just basic region locked gaming than go with the Sky3DS. Want more than that: GW

Yes, you're right about the emuNand. So I will stick with just keeping my GW and wait patiently for the update. Thanks everyone for the help in deciding!

I haven't tried it, but I would assume that because it "emulates" a game on a 1:1 basis that only games signed/verified by Nintendo would run. So even if you converted it and a template was available it still wouldn't be able to run a home-brew .3ds file (Never heard of one on a side note).
