tbh i think needing to release another revision of the card so soon shows they have no long term plans to support the card....if you look at gateway they planned to move with the times and support existing customer....like now i can buy a N3ds and still use my old card....gateway could of easily tried to fob everyone off with a new revision being required numerous times.....but no at every point gateway has stood by their product......lets just say sky3ds gets blocked, given their very short and already muddy history, i wouldn't expect them to try support their old card it would be straight to the "buy our green button card for 9.4 support....oh and 10 game limit is back again for a month or two"......that's the main reason i would recommend gateway over sky3ds (plus its cheaper and more feature rich)

THIS!

I think you hit the nail right on the head here. For predicting their future behavior their past behavior is a good indicator.

This is a much better post in explaining why someone should stick it out with GW. Thanks bud!

Have you not been reading? The 10 game limit tool is extremely tedious to use. Yes it does the job but you need to modify the backup and follow strict rules that'll destroy your microsd if done incorrectly.

Hence the justification that the new blue buttoned card works better and is easier.
Are you dense? The tool does the job. It doesn't matter how difficult it is to set it up.

Bitch we rule, don't forget it!!!!

I'd like to visit Maylaysia. Any hot spots to hit up while there? Don't worry, I won't spit everywhere.

Well from the original quoted post that was clearly a sarcastic remark I wasn't sure if you were playing around or being serious and what I meant from my reply was that yes, the new cartridge removes a 10 game limit that albeit can be removed on the original red button Sky3DS, is NOT recommended for newbs.

If you were actually reading the whole thing you'd notice that guitarheroknight was merely replying a sarcastic post on what is actually removed;

... a 10 game limit which gets removed 1 month latter making you buy another card which does the same thing and has no limit. OOOH it also has a shiny new blue button. Definitely worth the extra $100 :yaynds:

It was only a matter of time... I thought some other company would make their own clone without the limit though. The people who found the workaround in the old cart are they known from earlier? Because I'm starting to wonder if this was their plan all along, try to sell the 10 game limit shit as long as possible and then have the workaround released if/once they had competition on the later firmwares.

lol, yeah. It would not be smart to have more than 10 games at the same time. Imagine pressing that button 50 times... waiting 10 seconds per iteration...
do you know how to make it more fun ?
if you wanna play the game #50 , and you just pass it ,and there is still 30 more , after that you have to return to game #1

i think they should add some kind of soft list , just like the gateway
when you press the blue button , a list appears and you can chose the game using the D pad

i doubt it was anything to do with them.....that's a crappy plan if it was, it just makes them seem incompetent, and they could of just released the blue button card without releasing a tool to bypass their limit and sold more and still came across as "innovative"

yeah sure they should hack the 3ds......its not as simple as "oh a menu would be better", that requires some hacking, the only positive thing sky3ds has going for it is its non reliance on FW hacks.....take that away and its just a lame version of gateway

Right? Why announce your personal life here on the forums? Not like anyone cares. We're here to debate about the top two topics, WHERE THE FUCK IS GW UPDATE and SKY3DS DONE SCREW 1ST BATCH USERS.

Sorry I thought this was a community, my bad. Did you read past the first three words of my post? Because discussing the topic is exactly what I did.

Hmmm, what I get at this point, This or the Gateway that will supposedly work with current firmwares, all completely hinges on my New 3DS when it arrives sometime next year, the firmware it arrives in and if Gateway has been blocked or still running at that point. Though if I go this route, I'd still need my copy of Cubic Ninja for homebrew, and that would likely mean that some sort of update would need to be made to Ninjhax so that it would be working again with whatever the latest firmware version is at that point. So its a lot of ifs and waiting at this point for me.

I'm a network administrator and with ANY kind of technology or upgrade, it's always best to take your time and do it right the first time. If you rush even a little bit bad things can happen, like an Apple iOS update that breaks email functionality or something (I use Android but have to support things like this). It does suck GW hasn't pushed their update out yet, but there must be some reason - Maybe it's still bricking their consoles to some degree and they don't want to release it to the masses yet, we don't know.

As far as Sky3DS, I've been using M3 and R4 cards since the original DS was out and this is the norm for me albeit $100 cards than $15. From all my reading as I'm new to the GW/Sky3DS scene, GW is the correct choice especially if Sky3DS is releasing new cards after only a month on the market, and GW allows backwards compatibility which means no new card purchases. I know there's instructions for Sky3DS blah blah blah, but seriously, I'd rather follow a streamlined process then filter through broken Japanese to Chinese, then Chinese to English translations for firmware upgrades. I ordered a GW on Friday for the first time and am excited they finally added new SysNAND support after all these years. I've been so disappointed by the 4.5 requirement for so long!

Finally a person that speaks with intelligence and anyone with a brain would stay clear of Sky3DS, the proof is in the pudding already and was a fail from day one.

All this bollocks of hating Sky3DS or being a fanboy towards Gateway is not what this is about at all, so throw you're money away to a company that fucked people over right from the get go all you want, as I don't care. What I care about is a product that is going to last and be future proof to some degree for the future and GW seem to be the only one doing that, yet don't get me wrong GW have not been so honest themselves with their software releases and also left users in the dark for months with promises of 2.0 final that did not seem to be real at the time.

But the end of the day they did and my faith was restored with them just recently, yet with SKY3ds now linking to remove the 10 game limit and producing new batches with this limit now gone, it just speaks for itself:wink: Gateway could have possibly done the same but they didn't so, which one would you choose out the two teams? Red or Blue? I would choose Red

You think it matters with peoples goldfish memory... if Sky3DS contintues to work and nothing else does, and you can play online, then fuck it if they once released it with the 10 game limit... Kind of the same with Gateway and their brick code, nobody cares about that now.

They were alone with a card working on the later firmwares, if Gateway didn't come along and ruin their market they would have contintued with the 10 game limit... and not like they didn't know how to get around it, even by the time Sky3DS was just a blueprint. The tool makes people less pissed off that bought it, no? Resellers can also get rid off their stock, and that makes them a little happier to stock their stuff once again, I guess. If they didn't have this backup plan then THAT was a crappy plan.

They didnt drop the support. They just make sure the new customers get the right stuff right away. Nothing wrong with it.
