looks as though its through cubic ninja from his twitter :s

^ fucking ninja'd AGAIN

Well, I don't know. Smealum said there's no kernel access in the QR exploit, but maybe he's using it as a door to another exploit.

And for what it is worth, he didn't say he is using Cubic Ninja to get Kernel access.

Even if it may transfer the activity log data, it can only happen if you are in sysNAND, which is impossible since you need to be on the latest firmware to achieve something of the sort.
Conclusion: This may be indeed a leak of sorts for the new kernel exploit.
Maybe someone found out before Gateway released it?
Uhh...

"Fixed/Added support for 3DS System Transfer option when using emuNAND."
That update was released the 23rd; that GBATemp thread you cited was posted the 2nd. Additionally, this recent thread shows that it does work in reverse, so I'm sure it'd work EmuNand > SysNand.

Not saying he didn't really discover anything, just saying that there is likely another plausible explanation.

No.
He probably elevated it somehow.
the homebres launcher is launched by an userland firmware eploit that is accsesed via an exploit in Cubic ninja.
So its right to say cubic ninja is an entrypoint.

The update it's coming soon™

So if I go and import a N 3DS to America, which one should I get? Japanese?
Also, should I buy a game with it for the wait?

Question about the gateway now--
I have a ton of games downloaded to my 3ds xl from the eshop, I'll still be able to acess them, correct?
Thank you!

Theres no kernel access for the exploit with cubic ninja.
i say it, its not possible to get access for loading roms or edit system files.
ninhax by itself can even load homebrew due to it being just an entry point.

They probably don't want to mention features yet, as they may or may not know what will be possible/stable at the moment. We saw multi-rom in the video (if my memory serves me right, which it barely does :P). It's just emuNAND we need for future proofing at the moment. Which maybe possible. If they say "YES! EmuNAND will happen" then it doesn't, many will be pissed off and acting like "FUK U GATEWAI!" etc etc.

I can see why they say "view our site for features" as those are probably the most tested at the moment.

if no emuNAND, how could they install CIAs?
