Doesnt nintendo need to get their hands on GW firmware to block the exploit? Or is there a way for them to find kernal exploit just by looking through the codes

Guys, freakin' read:

Notice the changelog for the region:
9.0.0-15 to 9.3.0-16

They are on a totally different system of firmware updates over there, getting different features at different times, different security updates whenever Nintendo cares enough to update them. Odds are it is the equivalent to our 9.2.0-20. At worst, it is a slightly updated version for their specific region. This is absolutely no indicator that a new firmware update is coming to the rest of the world

Different region. Different firmware numbers. No direct correlation to the rest of the world.

Both.
Nintendo can try to de-obfuscate GW work but they also have access to RAM dump and tools that hackers don't have ;)
Imagine a special 3DS with a logging output :D that writes every change/move in the kernel, they can compare with "normal" working 3DS ;)

Ninjahax entrypoint may be left untouched by Nintendo, however they can patch the access of it to the actual system menu exploit that enables the launch of homebrew code.
Probably Nintendo learned lots of lessons from Wii security flaws.

Wikipedia said:
The nomenclature of a firmware version, as it's shown on the 3DS System Settings, is divided into three parts: the first three digits represent the firmware version without eShop features (which is the one stored on retail cartridges); the number after the dash represents improvements related to the eShop and can only be obtained via online update; and finally, the letter at the end represents the region of the console. The possible letters are for the Americas (U), Europe and Australia (E), Japan (J), South Korea (K) and Taiwan (T), which are the five regions with exclusive firmwares for each one.
It's just the eshop features that are different which makes sense, the first 3 digits are what counts.

Even if 9.3 comes, who is stupid enough here to update its 3DS ?
If you're a Cubic Ninja exploit user and you update to 9.3, you are stupid lol
Same for 9.2 users who wants a GW release...

Watch them push the update over spotpass and users get updated by having their 3DS in sleep mode... that would make for fun on the forums

If anything, it'll hold them back. The Gateway team will wait for releasing the update so that it'll work on 9.3.

Anyone here have a 3DS from this region to confirm that it blocks ninjhax?

Don't know , as GW say "Do Not update Beyond this version" , meaning they have no plans for next version .

The main changes to the project on 9.3.0-16T

In order to make consumers more comfortable to use this product, and to enhance the stability of the system and convenience.

I just noticed something:

https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=zh-CN&tl=en&u=http://www.nintendo.tw/3ds/support.htm&sandbox=1

This is from a different domain (Nintendo Taiwan website, whereas Timburpton's was from Nintendo Hong Kong site), but the latest update here is mentioned as:

"Now, the latest version can be downloaded through the Internet to be used as "9.0.0-16T."

Even though both are supposed to be from the same region....possible typo on either one of the sites?

Personally I think Nintendo would want to try there damnedest and block everything possible at the moment from 9.2 so I would not be surprised if the NinjHax and Gateway 9.x are blocked in 9.3 update.

Well if this is a patch to kill exploits and any really are 'related' to one another then we will soon find out.

Well I guess there's nothing to do but wait and see. Here's to hoping we're either completely unaffected or not affected for too long before things normalize again.
