There is no "new card" - its the same thing.
They're just gonna roll out additional software for 9.x support.

i was betting on 2 horses realy.i figured i can play on the sky3ds and put my backups on there that i realy want to play forever or only multiplayer games. but at least i have something to play until gateway releases the software.

Non I should think. site say's usable on both "System Firmware 9.0.0-20, 9.1.0-20J or 9.2.0-20 then you WILL be able to use it with Gateway 3DS!"

Doesn't look like any major changes from 9.0 to 9.2 so any will do.

The 2DS will work with Gateway once they roll out they update.
When you get your 2DS shipped at your door, check its version number, and double check if it is indeed in the range of 9.0.0~9.2.0-20
If it isn't, check the latest update available by visiting Nintendo's website, and update to that version.
Then STAY there and wait for Gateway.
If by the time you get your 3DS and Nintendo rolled a newer update, and your 2DS is stuck at something lower than 9.0.0 you should just hope a game is released that has the update on it.

Maybe they're having a hard time? The most they 've done in timely manner was remove Cubic Ninja from JAP eShop.

because they have 3 hacks to deal with,the cubic ninja hack,the sky3ds hack & the new gateway threat. it's not an easy job for them at the moment but an update is not far from release now.
