This is actually pretty bad for people who pre-ordered it via Amazon UK because now they're supposedly gotta have to wait till December 19, or alternatively, cancel their order(s). Although I can confirm that a couple got their GameCube bundles as I saw them on a GAME store, but shortly after they were out of stock.

Europe

Multiple NeoGAF users report pre-orders being delayed to next week and even as late as December 19 in some cases.
One wrote: "Even my order from the Nintendo UK Webstore has a December 1st delivery date."
CVG has contacted Nintendo for comment on the reported stock shortages.
The game was originally scheduled to arrive in Europe on December 5, but in late October Nintendo brought forward the Super Smash Bros Wii U release date to this Friday, November 28. The title is also available to download digitally from eShop on Wii U.
Super Smash Bros Wii U launched in North America on November 21 and is due to be released in Japan on December 6.
Nintendo of America said this week that Super Smash Bros Wii U sales topped 490,000 physical and digital units combined during the game's first three days of availability, making it the fastest-selling title on the console in the US.
CVG's Super Smash Bros for Wii U review labelled the game "the best-looking, most satisfying series entry to date".

Well, let this picture do the talk:

This will all normalise once Nintendo makes more prints of everything and so people don't have to be spending tons of money for something that'll cost them a lot less than buying from eBay overpriced auctions.

As long as you've got the game then you're fine for now, but of course Smash with the NGC adapter + controller is definitely a much better experience or with the Hori/PDP (Hori-NGC also went out of stock).

Oooorrr... buy a UK or JP adapter for the normal price, it's not region-locked.

That's what I did, only 40 dollars for both the device and shipping, 2-3 days as well! Heh heh heh...suck that, eBay price-gouging losers! :creep: The game in the US sold 500,000 in three-days' time alone on opening weekend.

I don't see what's the fuckin problem with playing smash on the wii u tablet ipad android gamepad

It's the most comfortable controller I've ever used.

Because, reasons. When you have six roommates, you kinda need more controllers than just two or three lol.

I guess I was one of the lucky one, I pre-ordered mine with the bundle late in the game, and still got mine on release day from Best Buy. I didn't have to pay the inflated price the price gouger set:).

I bet at least 80% of those people who eventually get it with the gamecube attachment will end up using the wii-u controller or the pro controller anyway. Nostalgia was great and im sure the gamecube controller triggers it for alot of people but its clunky plastic compared to the nice smooth layout of the new pro controllers and i doubt anything will top how great the actual gamepad feels.

Its time to let go of this ridiculous myth that the gamecube controller is the best controller for smash. It simply isnt, it was better that the wiimote and nunchuck obviously and thats why it got so popular with brawl but now? It just doesnt compare. These people who might be paying more for the controller or waiting longer are going to end up disappointed, its almost hipster territory now.

The game is easy to find in the US. The problem is the bundle which is in limited production for now. Outside of that, people just have to wait until Tuesday when more retail stores get more shipments of the adapters.

Good thing Nintendo is planing for sure to release more shipments, but they seem to be tight lipped about when.

I wrote an email to them, the rep said that they are indeed going to make more of them, they didn't have an official date, methinks the first week in December at the latest. And yes, those scalpers on eBay can kiss my ass :creep: Trying to make money or not, they still suck. "Let's sell this 20 dollar adapter for ten times the price, that'll get their attention." Well too bad for them, there are online import stores all over the internet that will have them.

I would never use anything but the GC controller for smash, anyone who's ever played it competitively will attest to this and yes i have 2 Wii U Pro Controllers. Frankly you're statement is commical to me, these is a reason why they did this and its not nostalgia.

Then you apply to the 20%. The big thing the GC controller had which made it better was the 2 analog sticks with the Cstick (for smash attacks). Nintendo have rarely had controllers with that but now they do, rendering the GC controller almost obsolete. My statement might seem comical to you but your comment is vauge and makes no actual point other than "others say it's better" Well, those "others" you refer to in the competitive scene have put a ridiculous ammount of time into learning one controller, so ofcourse they will stick with it.

For casuals or people who intend to enter that same competitive scene now gain no advantage using the GC controllers. The rest of the gamecube controller is inferior in every way. The A and B buttons are big and clunky by today's standerds of controller and if you really think the triggers are superior to pro controller / gamepad then i think you're stuck in a nostalgic mindset. If you dont agree and plan to reply to this post then actually make some valid points please and tell me why the gamecube controller is better in your own opinion
