Especially with all the things happened recently in the 3DS hacking scene, and now with the Ninjhax thanks to Smea, I guess Nintendo is preparing something, and it's not something good for sure. They are taking time to release a big update in order to block these flashcarts and the cubic ninja exploit. Smea also said it would take time to block it.

Gateway is right to wait. I think they always make the good decision, they have my full support

If the Gateway3DS does end up working on the New Nintendo 3DS then what about exclusive New 3DS games like Xenoblade Chronicles. Since they might run differently from normal 3DS games wouldn't those games require a whole new flash card just to be able to run those games?

i think gateway will handle it like the others did, back when the DSi and the "exclusive games" came out. no need for a new card, just a software upgrade.

I mean just the New 3DS consoles. I don't even think the old 3DS's could even run a game like Xenoblade, it must be using that extra horsepower in the New 3DS to even be able to run. We still don't know if the New 3DS games come in a new format or have some new security, but it would be awesome if those New 3DS games could be run on a New 3DS console using Gateway.

You can use the Cirple Pad Pro for the missing buttons.
It's the different CPU that is in the New 3DS what could be not letting us play the exlusive titles on the regular 3DS

I never got my shitty copy of cubic ninja (read about it here). So now the GW is actually cheaper than cubic ninja and with the recent announcement of future 9.x support, I'm hooked. I'm currently on 9.2.0.20E and consider buying a Gateway now before the new update is released which causes another shortage and price spikes I wish to avoid. But can I actually do that?

The current GW is only compatible with 4.5 or earlier... Can I update the 4.5 compatible GW to a firmware supporting my 9.2 3DS without having a 3DS that is still on FW 4.5?

It has been mentioned many times that you wont need any additional hardware to use the new update. I would suggest to buy a GW before the update arrives since its more than sure that the price will go up. The worst thing that could happen is you selling or trading your GW card for a stupid Sky3ds.

Nintendo said the game won't be compatible with the circle pad pro .. pretty shitty move on their part in my opinion.

We simply don't know. It will probably be a KExploit if you don't need aditional hardware, but that is speculation.

Point is, the Gateway team stated in a few E-mails that you don't need a 4.5 3DS to update the card, nor that there will be a new card, nor that you need aditional hardware, you'll do it yourself (hence probably a KExploit)

While I agree that english may not come as easy to some of us as to others - from what I've seen a large majority of the users that frequent here aren't native speakers.
We're not all american or british...

Its easy to assume that just because someone speaks or types reasonably decent english that they are "native speakers", the reality is many are not.
And just because you're NOT a native speaker shouldn't excuse you completely.
Particularly someone who is trying to learn, would benefit from going over their sentences once or twice and actively attempt to improve.
ESPECIALLY when others have pointed out they are having difficulty understanding what he or she means to say.


I have no problems with people who are new to english and who are still learning.
I do have problems with people who aren't trying and are using "I'm not a native speaker" as an excuse to just be lazy.

That said, its a two-way street and that means that someone who shows signs of learning should be given a break aswell.
No need to be excessively rude about it...
The fact is that the majority here DO speak english - not vietnamese, not french, not dutch.
Which makes english the easiest language for us all to communicate.

So lets all just try to get along, let the language impaired users try to improve by taking a second to go over their posts.
And let the other users take a second to attempt to interpret a poorly formed post if you're going to respond to it (and otherwise ignore it, don't make fun of it...)
It'll make the user experience better for all of us.

Language is something I'm kinda' of an expert in, and it's a heavily debated issue in my classes. It is, afterall, a pretty massive cultural piece.

I think it's reasonable to ask for clarification if something isn't clear enough. I don't think the proper response is to tell a non-native "If you don't speak english perfectly you will be ridiculed" as one poster did, or to tell them when typing in english that "this isn't a Vietnamese forum".

It's very clear that they're attempting to follow the rules to the best of their abilities. From their following posts it's clear they're able to type more legibly, and asking for clarification or just ignoring it would have been more effective without isolating non-native speakers.
