Hacking (4.x only) CIA CFW Complete Guide

have someone around here tried installing a .cia of Monster Hunter 4 or Monster Hunter 4G?

I want to know if all games can be installed by this method, or at least those ones since I want to be able to transfer the save from MH4 to MH4G, and I think I can do it with one of the games installed on the 3DS while the other one being a card2 game, I still have to know to do both things, but at least I want to try to have a starting point...

oh and another thing: I read somewhere in a thread from here that .cia seems to be generic and works for all 3DS, is that really the case?

Because here you can't post roms = cia, use google , at last 8 games cia files are around and more...

Same as why we can't post wads, it's still a rom, just in a different format.

Does anyone know how to uninstall the DEV menu from .cia form? I've looked through my Program List running it in ROM form and it does not appear to be there.

From my understanding every game that uses max 5.x SDK should work with the CFW just fine, everything never needs a Gateway Card to function however.
I try to test Monster Hunter 4 JP on my 3DSXL 4.3 and see if i can get it to work with a proper custom rsf file.

Monster_Hunter_3_Ultimate_USA_3DS-VENOM MinFW: 4.4.0U

Monster Hunter 3 should work perfectly fine on CFW.

Well, I've never messed with the 3ds datebase files, so I don't really know anything about them, but you will need to make sure they are decrypted using the SD_Decrypter in this forum(but you might not be able to do that if you separated your nands...don't know why)

I was only look for commands written for use with that tool .

My 3DS XL firmware is beyond use of flashcards are files IE: v9.2.0-20E lastest.

But if anyone who can decrypt the title.db are import.db , Then SDinfo_gen.py Might do the trick ?

I'll be waiting your results, how you make a custom rsf? May be the memory allocation that MH4 makes has something to do with the game not booting?

i can install some of them with devmenu, 3 of them are particular because devmenu show :
press start+y to update firmware:
0004013800000002.cia(NATIVE_FIRM)
0004013800000003.cia(SAFE_MODE_FIRM)
0004013800000102.cia (TWL_FIRM)

i can install 2 of them

edit: ok with bbb devmenu i can install all of them but i can not boot cfw anymore

Works on 4.3. Can't play online with installed games for a couple of reasons.

If you can connect to your router through its IP address in the web browser (ie 192.168.2.1 or w/e). Whether or not the 3DS says Online shouldn't matter.
