Which version of PlayCoinSetter have you guys managed to convert into a working .cia?
I presume it's the PlayCoinSetter.csu from the 5.2.2 SDK. Or maybe it's the PlayCoinSetter.3ds that a temper here released some time ago (if there is even a difference between the two).

I tried that one too. It won't produce a valid banner and crashes on launch. Does anyone have the RSF for these dev tools?

Also,

I would like to preemptively warn everyone who is running dev tools or homebrew and has enabled in their friends list the possibility of showing to your friends what game they are currently playing, that it may not be wise to let dev apps and invalid homebrew ids to be broadcast from your NNID through nintendo's network.

Retail as in actual cartridge retail?

No.
Savedatafiler does not work in classic mode.

Besides, if the retail save was created above 4.x, it can't be decrypted by savedatafiler.

But if it can work in classic mode, then it's possible right? This is just hypothetical as from the way you're saying is that it is possible to put saves in a retail cartridge with savedatafiler if it does work in classic mode.

I've never linked an NNID to my 4.5 3ds, do you think it's still not good to have show running game to friends enabled?

if it works in classic mode,
it should be able to decrypt saves that are made on 4.5 and below.

For that you need Gateway to patch their launcher.

any word on if saves work from .3ds to .cia?

only for games that have nand saving (card2), such as pokemon x.

to transfer the save, can you savefiler (dev app) or save data transfer tool (3ds ware dumped)

besides that, no other games can transfer their saves.

In addition,
making an existing card 1 rom to card 2 will change the header,
and the save will be seen as corrupted, so won't be able to transfer too.

Are we able to rip retail pokemon cart saves yet?

If I convert a card1 rom to card2, can I dump the save (a new save I mean)?

I've never tried, since I was very busy trying to transfer my old save.
(took silly me a while to realize that header changed, so save seen as corrupted)

you wanna try and report back? XDD

Erm......,
If using Gateway:
Could be done a long time ago
just that now you can use savefiler to decrypt it and edit it

If using standard 3DS > FW 4.5
can be done using Powersaves, for backup and restore

If using CFW?
What pokemon?

maybe you'll like to be a bit more specific regarding what firmware you on, what you wanna do with it etc?

Sorry, the main line, X and Y is what I was referring to. I did not think we could rip and use the nand saves with ROMs yet? Did a little bit of searching just now and still cannot find anything saying otherwise...

We could. the painful way.

you insert your GW redcard SD onto your computer,
use cart2sav (look for it) or cardtwo save tool.exe (also look for it).

it allows one to rip the save file out of the rom.
that tool also allows you to inject the save file.

thing is, we don't know how to re-encrypt those, so can only use it for backing up saves.

can .cia played in online ?
Try it yourself. One person reported that it worked. It's unclear whether or not you need a header because their use of quotation marks may actually indicate that it was a pirated ROM, but even if it was, you should then be able to convert headered ROMs to online-capable CIAs.

i really wanted to but i'm still confuse converting .3ds to .cia with those srf things
will try it when someone shared .cia games

Here on GBATemp? Could be a long wait.
correct me if i'm wrong but no sharing that include nitend0 copy right
so i think no one will share .cia just like rom sharing
so far i only found mario
hope someone share pokemon .cia

Nice :DD
Good to see this stuff, bough my card few months ago and seeing updates like this shows me i didn't waste my money.
