Or port this CFW to higher firmware versions, seems the more likely, and more helpful, option. Or if not, maybe take information from and apply to an open loader, like xerpi's eleven-arms.

Tough, but yeah. That seems like a great option.

Will it work on 4.4 console? Someone already made such question before but I didn't clearly understood reples

This is da best week eva. First dumped Flipnote Studio, now this  Maybe it will finally look like sony hacking scene.. A bit

I still stand by the fact that flashcards are overpriced pieces of shit. GW can f**k itself :creep:

Overpriced? It's the price of two 3DS games right now (70 dollars). You want them to give it to you for free?

No to mention you have two flashcards in it (a DS one and a 3DS one).

And if it's a piece of shit, why do you want one? (If you don't, you wouldn't care how much it cost).

I'm also curious to see when the first peoples crying will appear, because those leaked things (or futur oens) bricked their 3DS.

He basically never knew the days when flashcarts used to be more than $100. The DS era spoiled a lot of members basically, so to speak.

I just find the crying to be hilarious, I couldn't care less, but the more options people have the better. People are all butthurt over the fact that people can now do the same thing GW owners have been able to do, thinking that the stolen code is somehow immoral when the GW isn't. The 3DS hacking scene will only get better. Cia loading is all I really care about, ROM loading be damned.

Where's this idea coming from that installing this CFW will send your MAC and IP address to anyone? The only IP that you're feeding into the .bat is the local IP of your 3DS.

I don't have problem with people using a CFW, it's a good thing (especially when you have a 3DS with a broken cart slot for example), but I'll never use such a leaked thing personally (and some for other systems, I don't only think that for 3DS).

If you want to use a CFW, then, at least, wait for a known developper to release one to be safe (if there is one, I might install it one day, but don't count on me to use a leaked, probably unsafe, thing).

So yeah, it will be funny to see people using whatever they find just to spare a few bucks and then having to pay again to unbrick their 3DS or buy a flashcard.

If the guy stole it by using stinky methods, why does it make you believe it's release is safe?

And that don't explain why you find the gateway overpriced anyway, except if you only discovered flashcards with the DS...

It pulls some URLs from a pair of .xml files, they're linked to in boot.bin. I guess he mirrored the files from somewhere else? I tried zeroing both URLs out, but it refused to boot then.

it connects to govanifY's server to get two xml files.

Have fun with your... what's the word for it... cr*p version of the GW with CIA installing as its only upside. Be sure to find out what GovanifY does with your details.

Just like how I'll never understand blind brand loyalty to GW, I'll never understand why people are bitter over free CFW.

Paranoia, you're doing it right. Enjoy your "backups". :creep:

Closest I've seen anyone come to a CFW that's publicly available is xerpi's eleven-arms, which in it's current state I don't think is enough to boot a full patched firmware. Otherwise, waiting doesn't seem to have accomplished much. There's been a full 3DS CFW shared among the upper circle of 3DS devs for a good long time now, and from the sounds of it none of them planned to ever release.

Solely because many of those higher-ups (see: illuminati) are too pusillanimous. This is why 4.5 hacks will be forever existent.

All drama aside—it just won't work out of the box. It should be modified in order to be at least usable (and I mean piracy by that). “Tho this would need mods in the CFW for allows so.”
In order to install DevMenu you should have something installed on the console (to aquire the tickets and extdata, I guess). “If after several times it still didn't worked, you should consider to install some apps on your sd then reinstall the 4.5 NAND.” I tried to and indeed failed. DevMenu was transfered correctly but it didn't appear in the home menu. If it’s 4.5 only how do we install something from eShop? Gateway, I guess.
Otherwise, there is nothing you can do with it. (Aside from studying it and developing your own CFW.)

Maybe you're the one who is a bit too credulous, it depend of how we look at it ;)

But I don't think it would go that far, just the fact it might brick your 3DS is enough (remember the bitching with the brick-code of the gateway :D ?)

Well, it's their right if they don't want to see it used for piracy, for example (which is probably the easiest reason they might not releasing it). And if I were them, I would put a brick-code in the next versions to avoid such leaks.

Not wanting to use a leaked thing is blind brand loyalty?

Especially when you critize the ones that do some CFW and don't want to give it yo you? Like a little kid that would say "NAH, I WANT IT! GIMME! GIMME!" ?

I use a CFW on my PS3 and I'm completely happy with it (Rogero 4.55). A 4.60 version of this firmware got leaked and I didn't installed it for the same reason I gave you in my previous post about the 3DS CFW, so I don't really see how it could be related with the gateway?

If you really want to see a public CFW, why don't you code it yourself? It's always the best way to avoid counting on anyone else. I was fed up of waiting game translations for example so I learnt japanese, and now, I don't need to count on anyone, just do the same for the CFW :)

I won't argue with that logic :P
