Mine got scratches on the surface just hours after unboxing. Know what I did? I sat the Game Pad on it. Once.

Hello,
Thank you for writing to us, and for being patient while you waited for our reply. We have been experiencing a high volume of emails, resulting in delayed responses. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
At this time, we unfortunately don't have any specific information as to whether or not you will be able to play games other than Super Smash Bros. for Wii U with a GameCube controller. However, we can certainly understand your thoughts on this matter and want you to know how much we appreciate you sending them in. We also want to assure you that your comments will be added to our records for Virtual Console and will be made available for other departments at the company to review and thoughtfully consider.
Sincerely,
Nintendo of America, Inc.
Annemarie Ford
We already knew that, it's impossible for an older game to use it since it didn't exist before. So sadly it seems like it'll really be playable with Smash Bros. during its launch, but I hope they make it compatible with other games in the future.

We did, but the issue is that Nintendo of UK credibility is lower than NoJ/NoA or NoE's.
So you're saying Nintendo cannot add support with a game update for the games that have already been released? We already knew that, it's impossible for an older game to use it since it didn't exist before.

if it really does work in vwii mode than you can bet there will be a vwii....update with a few extra fixes in it not just to enable the adapter.
They could add it later, that's not the problem. It can't work out of the box because 4 GC controller ports over USB is not the same as the 4 GC controller ports that were in the Wii.Because I've heard contrary to that, until NOA or NOJ confirms, I don't believe anything Nintendo UK says. Something about that doesn't add up, as they don't speak for the entirety of Nintendo or all its markets. vWii Mode is very plausible.

It is highly unlikely it will ever work in vWii mode as a Gamecube controller as they still haven't made the gamepad function as a classic controller yet which would be much easier. Remember that Nintendo couldn't even make a GBA emulator for the Wii U Virtual Console so what makes you think they are capable of adding that kind of support to their vWii hypervisor?
