I've kind of hit the wall when looking to buy a NDSL Slot-1 flash cart. I have been looking into the EZ-Flash 3in1 to work with my Supercard DSTWO.

Ufortunately I see more than one version on the different online stores I found through shoptemp http://shoptemp.net/products/EZ-3%2din%2d1-Extension-Kit.html

I've found different versions of the 3in1 where it's nowhere to be seen which revision it is. Even less the amount of RAM they have. I ended up emailing this shop since they seemed to at least differentiate the 3in1 card they have for sale.

I think I might have found a 3in1 with 512Mb. It's a "FAT" version though. My question is:
Do I go for the FAT version or is it enough to buy the LITE version with half the RAM (256MB)
Here's the FAT card:

And here's the LITE one (non-fat):

Are there any drawbacks with the FAT version of this card except physical size if compared to the LITE one? I'd like to know

Thanks for all answers

I have a lite version, no problems so far. I guess the ram is for the browser, which shouldn't really mind. Other than that, they work the same.

I do not know why we are replying to a months old thread, however as it was not answered I guess it plays.

The RAM (as in PSRAM) should be the same on all 3 in 1 models. This is 16 megs of 128MBit, this is the volatile but quick to write stuff people use when they just want to have a game. However it does not fit all GBA games, some of which go up to 256Mbit or 32 megabytes.

The NOR does change, NOR takes a long time to write but data stays there until it is deleted. Some models did go up to 512Mbit but from what I have seen only a handful of beta versions of an EZ5 kernel managed to have multirom (the amount of save memory the 3 in 1 has meant it made some things a bit trickier, said some things included pokemon and as a rule you never get in the way of the pokefiends when you have a flash cart). This means the extra memory is redundant, it was probably only used because of a shortage of NOR chips that they originally had.

Though the DSTwo has a GBA emulator it is not flawless, very good and will allow you to play most of the GBA library (probably better than any other supercard ever has) but it is not like the 3 in 1 is expensive.

Just a question about 3in1 and DSTWO.
I was thinking of buying a 3in1 for my DS Lite but I don't know if I need GBA ExpLoader to load the games or I can load directly from the DSTWO menu.

I assume you want to play natively, not the emulation that DS2 was offering.

I believe you still need GBA Exploader to write games to 3in1.

NOR stores the game permantely, until you flash in another game.

PSRAM will lose the game once you powered off the DS, but can be flashed much faster than NOR.
