Example - I quit my game however it doesn't appear i can press select again to open my list of games. Seems like I have to go back into profile, load up gateway mode, then select, etc. Anyway to quit a game and be able to select another avoiding the profile load?

Guessing youre talking about smash? Just open the camera app instead of exiting the game.

no talking about any game in general. I will try the camera app
If you close a game, just press select to change to an other game. Dont need to reboot. But if you close SSB for 3DS the device make a soft reboot. So you have to start the camera (or other app) and close it. Then you have not to reboot in gateway mode.

Can't you also just press Power and then hit Home?

That's what I do for Smash Bros, at least on my 8.1 system... no reboots, it just goes back to the menu :P

Or does that kick you out of Gateway mode?

if it works that's nicer than going to another app like camera :)

EVERYONE gets kicked back to sysNAND and until/unless Gateway Team can/will properly patch the Home routine, we will have to deal with it. For some reason it was never properly patched. You can see this because closing emuNAND Config does the same thing.

Right!
Is this something that can be "patched"?

nah, i think it just doesn't work :rofl2:
tried again just gets kicked back to sysnand when you try that way....so only reliable/working method is opening another app

i don't understand what you mean by get kicked back to sysnand ! when i want to play a game i just load the ds profile i do not have to load the gw 8.1 nand.

If you have to reload the ds profile again then you're redoing what we don`t want to do :)
just FYI, if you load the ds profile, you are indeed reloading the GW 8.1 NAND unless you're not using emunand.

im talking about smash bros, and the fact it will reset you back to sysnand unless you do anything other than press home and launch a different app on the homescreen like miimaker or camera etc, thats the only way to avoid the softreset on exiting smash bros

the fact that the system resets on exiting system settings is intended, its system settings that triggers it rather than something gateway did wrong, even on sysnand the 3ds does a softreset after exiting system settings

Yeah, seems to be just with Super Smash Bros due to it using more RAM than most games.

Taking the cartridge out also boots you back to the system menu. With any other game, it goes back to the emuNAND menu if you remove the game (triggering the "press home" screen) or press Power.
