And the 3DS Logo should be wider.
I would agree except that since this design will be the face of 3DS homebrew for years to come I think a little nitpicking may be appropriate.

smealum there should be an option to where u can customize ur loader like the r4 cards
this is by far the best , but i think the second animation is unnecessary .
In my opinion, the animation will likely be fine. It will probably take a second or two for the SD card to be initialized, the items found and sorted, and then drawn into the buffer anyway. Might as well have a short animation to fill in that time.
My vote is sunnyvoxels's idea. It's clean and simple, yet it provides the necessary information. Plus it looks like it should be easily skinnable which is a feature which I know a lot of people will want
These are all amazing! You should allow people to use custom ones of their choosing!

Heard about the need for some concepts and whatnot. Whipped this up today. wanted to go with a modern Nintendo-y feel. There is a UI concept and a few variations on a logo.

I liked fluto's logo, and arehandero's suggestion of a boxy 3D icon, so I went with the 3DS logo colour scheme on a box (artfully representing pandora's box, cracking open the 3DS, etc...). I imagine a floating, bobbing "lid".

Amazing work we're seing here, the final choice will be very hard to decide, for me IanSherrard and sunnyvoxels have my vote, their menu designs are very intuitive, yet simple and nice for the eye, and maybe skineable

Although I'm not a huge fan of the direction smea took with this, these are some very nice looking concepts. I have high hopes for what the final will look like!

nvm, I like this one better than the last one I chose. This one just looks and fits perfectly with the 3DS. Just looking at the design and it almost looks like it would actually be for the 3DS. Especially the bottom screen part!
Well, I'm not much for graphic design, but I decided to try my hands out at Photoshop, since I don't have many reasons to use it at all. When I was designing this, I was trying for pure simplicity. Nothing too extravagant, nothing too over-the-top. I'm a simple person, and this is what I came up with:
I actually really like how the background came out, especially with my really crappy (It sorta turned out... I may try improving them...) bubbles. It almost looks like it's actually underwater, and it's a nice little shoutout to Team Twiizers and their Homebrew Channel for the Wii, which seems to have settled itself in here nicely. I really doubt that it'll win, but it never hurts to participate.
